That was pretty much me last night. Thankfully I was working from home today so I lay in bed until gone 8am.
It turned out to be a great day. I got loads done and learned a new function in Excel too which will be massively useful.
Bit blimmin' hot though. 37C.
Massive accident on M40. Google maps tried to get me round it. Failed.
Taken me 1hr 20 to do 20 minutes of my journey. Stationary now in a random country lane somewhere near Warwick Parkway. Sat nav says I'm going to be very late.
Good day so far. Could be worse, at least I'm not in the accidentEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Do you have clean hair?
Edit.. According to the BBC website there are no incidents on the M40. Maybe you should set them straight? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Well I'm fat and aged 45 - 60 but definitely a woman and I buy them. personally i don't like them, but the dogs occasionally get one for a treat.Doozergirl wrote: »
If I get up now, I can wash my hair, but I'm loath to leave bed at a time that begins with "5". That is not in my realm of reality!
Up at 5.15 every monring. Even at the weekends the dogs don't realise....Doozergirl wrote: »Massive accident on M40. Google maps tried to get me round it. Failed.

Everyone else will be late though because of the accident.
The only way to get round a really huge accident is to literally go in such a wide circle round it that it's no different to sitting in the queue/diversion.0 -

That's crazy! They're reporting it on Radio 2. Local radio treating it as a minor thing. There's three counties affected and another local station is missing their next DJ as he's stuck in it.
I'm still what should be about 40 minutes away so I'm certain I'll be the only one that's late. People even come from all corners.

I'm the boss! Thankfully it's a week long, not a day.
Traffic is stuck in opposite direction as well (not as bad but I don't think I'll escape quickly or I'd try a different route)
Keep chatting, you lot - I need entertainment!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

This winter has had a very unusual (for it's longevity) south westerly sourced weather pattern leading to lots of southerly winds.
I would look at it as PNs house has stood up fine to the worst nature is likely to throw at it so there is little to worry about going forward.
Do share, you can't have too many excel functions up your sleeve.
It's using the OR function to recognise whether two cells are populated and then using the IF function in combination only to create an output if both are populated. Not that exciting but a pleasingly neat solution to a problem I have of comparing how a bunch of fund managers have been voting across almost 250,000 resolutions that I can't count by hand.
Dull but by getting this stuff done quickly I get to go back to the interesting stuff.
Something came out of the Xmas quiz this year. There was the thing about Deutsche Bank putting in their staff handbook how to get around sanctions. Well we were looking at stopping investing in another European bank altogether so I wondered who else had been sanctions busting in much the same way. The answer? All of them. From BNP to UBS.0 -

I hope it wasn't you! It does show how it's possible to get caught out if you try to be a bit too smart with moneysaving.
There was someone who until very recently organised theatre trips to book prices at group rates. He had a circulation list of around 2,000 people. Now he has stopped doing it and people were wondering how he managed to do it cheaper than anyone else who does a similar thing. Turned out he was selling the tickets at whatever they cost him, just to make the payments through his credit card to get the Avios. Sad thing is that he stopped because he suddenly became seriously ill and I doubt he will have an opportunity to travel anywhere.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Didn't expect that.
Yes, quite a surprise. He's only a year older than me!
Only saw him once, he wasn't singing... From Telegraph article "David Bowie: 22 things you didn't know" earlier this week:21. Bowie was trained in mime by Kate Bush's choreographer, Lindsey Kemp. His mime skills re-emerged as a warm-up performance for T. Rex in 1969, while the band were still a folk act called Tyrannosaurus Rex.
So there were only 21 things I didn't know about Bowie!John Peel was the compere, concert at the Liverpool Philharmonic. Don't think most of the audience were particularly impressed with mime, as they'd all gone to see Marc Bolan. Long time before Bolan was proper famous though.
