Hope you all had a lovely Christmas.

The trouble I have is that if something's in the house, then I can't say "No" to it. I find it easier to limit what comes in ..... I don't bring the stuff into the house because it'll still be available for sale at some future point if I really fancy something. I don't have to own/keep my own stock here. I learnt (when I lost 3 stone) that food doesn't disappear forever just because you don't buy it.... it's still there, in the shops, at any future date you want it.

Should be open within 6 months .... I'll try their trifles. I don't usually eat supermarket individual trifles as I think they have too much jelly/not enough cake. As for "half the price of ..." I never look at the price of trifles. I kind of crave a big spoon/scoop of a whole big trifle bowl of it ... schlurped into a big bowl ..... I did get such a helping, all boozy too, on Xmas Day :) Best one I'd tasted for probably 30 years.

Asda used to do a "Trifle of the Month" some years ago. One month it happened to be Mandarin & Banana.

We thought it sounded a nice change, so we bought one. Unfortunately it was indeed nice, so nice that the two of us ate the whole thing between us at one sitting.....

I don't think we wanted anything else to eat until about 24 hours later :D

ETA As for mugs, I received two; one from DD2 which is so very pretty that I don't want to use it in case anything happens to it (but will force myself ;) ) and a big one from OH with "Women and cats will do as they like" on one side, and round the other side "Men and dogs will just have to get used to it".

A sentiment with which I concur. But I will have to get rid of a couple of mugs in order to fit these two into the cupboard.

Thanks StevieJ! And a Happy New Year to you.

I asked for a full set of mugs for Christmas. I didn't get any, but Doozer did spoil me buy me lovely things this year.

I have just demolished a tube of little Rolos. I am trying to find home for presents in our bedroom and am tidying out the top drawer of wires that has somehow set up shop in here.

I am attempting to sort it. Most of it can go and live in the entire chest of drawers which is dedicated to random crud that can't be thrown away.

I must read Marie Kondo again!

I've put the picture in. Not only does it have (even more) likes, the comment section also has people having a nice little agree and a pontificate about how they are one of the 3%.

There is a reason why many new businesses fail.

It's facebook, people use the "like" button just to show they have seen something. No Dislike button on FB. It means nothing. Facebook is for liking and hugging, Twitter for arguing.

So the new TV has arrived and OH has been playing at the settings. So gleeful that he has managed to change the input names to "game" and "cable" rather than HDMI1 and HDMI2. He is so excited that the Virgin remote now turns off the TV.

    Men and their toys!

At least he has offered to collect DS2 from the station.

Luckily today's train also ran to time and very luckily he managed to get to the train station. He has been staying very near to the floods.

It can be sometimes. :o However there's a solid nucleus of good regular posters and a great community spirit. On the whole it is a really helpful and supportive thread taking money saving to the extreme:eek:
