I love a good bit of rabbit. I had some lovely rabbit in Paris last year.0

I see they brought their own carrots for the stock.

I woke up at 6am and put the kettle on for tea, then OH came in so I left him to make it. Then we had toast and marmite with crunchy peanut butter for breakfast. Yum! Then OH felt really tired (he sat up till after midnight apparently, and consumed a WHOLE PACKET of choc chip cookies! I found the evidence when I woke up this morning!
) so went back to bed.
About 4 hours later he came back into the living room talking on phone to our neighbour Rolf across the field. The 6 bullocks from the field on our side had somehow broken in and were gathered around his caravan! He'd already called the farmer to come and collect them. Then they all galloped (do cattle gallop?) down the field leaving huge divots in the smooth mowed grass of the field. They galloped into the lower field, at which point I started worrying about Ruddy Duck who overwinters there... But straight across past our boat and disappeared towards their field. Where I saw them a bit later.
OH decided to go try find bread and newspaper in Abersoch then. On his way back he was behind the farmer (he recognised the tractor). Farmer turned into cattle field and we did see tractor later on driving those big plastic covered cakes of silage around.
Too much excitement for Boxing Day! :rotfl:
While I've rounded up escaped sheep in this field in the past, cattle are too big to want to chase around! They have big horns! :eek:0 -
BBC quiz on which I think I got 3 out of 20 (so better than Gen's quiz)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-35124886
However the bit that got me was apparently 41% of Anglesey residents haven't been on line for at least 3 months
That is the sort of fact that smiley was invented for.I think....0 -

50% of residents of Anglesey are sheep, so 41% online is not unreasonable.
I have just watched ch 4 big fat quiz of the year, so I'm all quizzed out, or as PN says TLDR. I will admit to having googled what that meant.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Christmas day was peaceful, lunch successful. Ate and drank enough but not gorged on anything. Had wonderful presents from all. Nothing strange. Oh excelled himself, being the soul of thoughtfulness and generosity. He wrote me a beautiful note to accompany my main present. He is a man of few words, so that means a lot.
Sue, I feel for you when an adult plays out petty vengence on a child in such a public way. You were kind to remedy the moment. It may be a good thing if she learns of your act, in that her ommissin risked spoiling the day for all.
Muddy paws are an embellishment here.
Some busy people fitted us into their working days. One of our guests had worked the nightshift Christmas Eve, she is an intensive care nurse. We had offered to eat in the evening but she insisted we carry on as planned, however they left about 6.30pm.
Today we were with Oh's nephew. Nephew is a Police officer and worked lates yesterday and today. His wife is a Paramedic and was due to work today but has swapped it for a night shift on New year's eve.
No arguements although DD said her bf had a vile txt from his sister,
followed up by a call which he did not answer. But I think it unsettled him and DD was concerned for him. Sister is a barrister, but sounds selfish and a pain. Life is too short.
I bought an 18lb Turkey . We have a lot leftover, and I am really looking forward to using it up. No plans now until Wednesday, so we will potter about and Ihope OH unwinds.0 -
In a moment of boredom this weekend OH made a list of all airports he has visited in 2015. Came to 22, 4 were for leisure only, so that is 18 work related airports encountered- some more than once. 5 are London (ish) airports, so 17 (3 for leisure) overseas airports just for work.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. We prefer the boxing day eve fry up to Xmas meal here. What say you all?
We went out for a posh nosh on Xmas this year, Mrs McT insisted after cooking for the family 10 years in a row, so it was booked last January and a group of us went.
Very nice day out as it happens - ran into lots of old family friends who all seemed to be having the same idea- food was pretty decent and the wine list very good.
But.... It just isn't the same as doing it at home.
The best bit about Xmas to me is the days of leftovers and a full fridge to pick at for the week.
So we also bought a Turkey crown and all the trimmings and I cooked that today....
So today was the proper Xmas dinner at home, next few days will be the leftovers, and then it's a big rib roast for new years weekend.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

I was thinking of doing stuffed turkey breast for NYE. I like to stuff a big bird with some sausage at this time of year. The trick is to get them nice and moist.0
