It's always been that you could run windows stuff on macs but not the other way round. Old macs used to run softwindows then virtual PC and now you can run windows on bootcamp on a macbook.

But only need Windows for a few bits like Publisher, Access, and oh yes those stupid games.

After watching TV all day (well what else do you do in Wales when it's pouring and blowing a gale?) we did the catch up on computer of Gogglesprogs. We think it was the best TV of Christmas Day, laughed and laughed but touched too by the caring and compassion of those kids. Especially over the elephant babies. It really is worth a watch.

Having eaten a lot later than ever before - and later than anticipated - and having arrived home .... all I was capable of doing was lying on the sofa, groaning ...before falling asleep :)

I'm up/awake now, already had a coffee and watching the news. I don't need to eat, at all, today (or probably ever again).

I have got into the bad habit of weighing myself every morning. Today is a diet day.

Its suddenly become beautifully sunny! I wasn't expecting that. The weather forecast was for grey. Windy, though. Are NPs prepared for flooding?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Nice day today. The parents-in-law came over for late lunch. We had rib of beef and bought Xmas puds with homemade custard for pud. The Generalissimos stayed in the pool on a 30C day until their lips were blue. We bought them inflatable 'jet skis' (fat lilos really) with water guns on the front for Xmas which they hadn't had a chance to play with.

We all watched the Queen's Speech (never seen before) and the Test match from the MCG and the Xmas special of Dr Who. Now everyone has beggured off and me and Mrs Generali are sitting here watching Oceans Eleven on Netflix.

My local council has produced a handy guide to Christmas recycling. This year they will take cards and wrapping paper without embellishments, glitter or foiling, as well as biscuit and sweet tins. Good move, thanks council!

Yesterday finally spoke to someone in Sky who logged the fault with BT openreach (apparently it is not possible to do this directly) and was told 5 working days for an engineer to investigate the fault that was outside the property.

Today it is working again :)

Which means I can sale shop and spend a lot of time putting lollipop onto a tablet and windows 10 onto a tablet/laptop hybrid.

Sometime over the break I need to do the tax returns, someone please incentivise me :(
    I think....

I have already done my tax return. I incentivise myself (tablet wants to change that to infanticide myself weird or What, and why has it just capitalised what?) by reminding myself that if I do it early, they will take back any extra through my tax code, whereas if I leave it too late they want it as a lump sum.

I don't own scales, I weigh myself 3-4x a year at my sibling's house when I go there. I work on what jeans fit me. Currently size 8s are wearable (if not about to eat a huge Xmas dinner); for dinner yesterday I put on loose/comfy size 10s. I probably weigh 8st10 to 8st13 or so... at a guess.

While the size 12s I bought (as a snug fit) 11 years ago hang off me like pantomime curtains I'll figure I've not got a problem I need to worry about.

That's why those damn trousers with elasticated slides (or whatever you call them) are both a godsend and the same time the work of the devil.
