Five years ago today I put a picture on Facebook of our garden covered knee deep in snow.
    Unlikely to re-occur.

29th wedding anniversary is furniture. OH has bought a TV! Just what I always wanted, not.

You get a tv for free in prison and even for the worst offences are unlikely to serve 29 years...just sayin'

RNLI Beach Lifeguards are paid about NMW, but it's seasonal work, so they can often be on the dole the whole of the winter. There was a story in the newspapers where I was a few years ago where a lifeguard was saying that the Council had changed their rules and lifeguards used to be able to get free gym during the winter, but that'd been withdrawn - and they said that they couldn't easily keep their fitness up to scratch as they couldn't afford the gym fees when on JSA of £70/week.

    That's a disgrace

    Congrats silvercar

Oops - there was Michael the cold hearted thinking that surely if you aren't working and have all day every day you can manage to keep fit in your local park without needing a free gym membership.

But, that aside.... it can't be any fun exercising outdoors, every day, in appalling windy/wet/grim weather. Just because somebody's fit enough for duties XY & Z doesn't mean they're the outdoors in all weathers type.
    ...

Nooo. We are so lucky in this country to have a temperate climate. :)

I reckon there are very few days when I couldn't go out running; the exceptions being mainly when ice makes secure footing impossible.

Wind and rain are not really a problem.

I hate that term "local park", I think it's something cities have ...
    ...

It was only a week or so back that I learnt what they mean't by "rec" on Corrie. It's short for 'recreational park'.

I honestly grew up thinking it meant "wreck" as in a poor excuse for a park :D

    Congrats ! :)

    I knew 50th was Gold (I think).

    25th was Silver

    I never realised 29th was Plasma ;)

You fail to mention the size, but it has to be 55in+ to have any street cred nowadays !

    Thanks all.

The 50" plasma is being dumped for a 55" LED.
