Well I've been a sneaky boy.

My phone is on the way out so needed another and I'm not on the list of people at work that get a phone bought by work. Hmm, thinks me. I need to get on that list so that I get free upgrades in perpetuity. So how to do that?

I found out that there is a spare phone kicking about as a result of someone leaving so i asked if I could have that. Of course I can as it's free. As a result I am now on the list of people that have phones so I will get a replacement when this one breaks.

Next plan is to get on the list of people that have their phone bills paid. ;)

I find it hurts my throat....I'll get me coat.

Did 'big' presents for the kids over the year - pretty lucky as haven't achieved anything else during December - it is going to look pretty bare under the tree and in the stockings.

H said earlier that he doesn't like stockings. I asked if he wanted me to record him saying that :D

Pantomime was good. 3D effects and the "star" really knew how to entertain.

I enjoyed it more than Falstaff at La Scala last month.
Going to Winchester Christmas Market with friends tomorrow . Will skip the ice skating and do lunch.
I am all shopped and wrapped presentwise, but in the spirit of Christmas expect to be lulled into buying seasonal tat from a fake snow covered shed.

Winchester is quite well off for local and chain foodie restaurants. River Cottage, Maison Blanc, Hotel du Vin but we have not booked and I expect they will be busy . I will try to resist a "german" hot dog stall and gluwein at all costs as that is not my idea of lunch out.

    Back in Hertfordshire!

The post that needs thanking, for those that want to vote for Zag, in a competition I didn't know existed, in a part of MSE that I hadn't ever visited is here:

    Thanks to all.
I didn't know about the contest myself or that my name was there.
Not sure how I got nominated, as:
    (a) I've a miserly number of posts, many of them deemed deletable by the powers that be
    (b) You could wade through my deepest thoughts without getting your ankles wet.

Anyhoo, I'm getting excited by all the space station stuff on the telly. Didn't expect to, as it's hardly as exciting as the moon missions, but starting to see that the government are trying to ready us for the costs of further space exploration, which I regard as being what our future's about.:j

Last night I fell out of bed. Not done that in years,

I landed neatly on all fours. My knees an elbows. it hurt a bit and the noise I made scared OH.OH came round the bed to help me up as I do not have the strength to get up from the floor.

I must have been curled up on the edge of the bed and then tipped off the edge. Our bed is quite high. Victorian, cast iron

Our cleaner changes our bed on Wednesdays, so tonight the duvet is tucked in tightly. I may attempt to get into bed without untucking my side.

Glad you are ok Spirit and that husband is home. When he is away, is it worth moving pillows to the middle?

Maybe he just hasn't found the right size for him ? ;)

    Interesting (ish) anecdote.

A long time back, I did some temp work in a friend's blast freezer (frozen food factory - big room - very cold).

    It was unsurprisingly cold!

Some of the lads in there said they wore womens tights under their jeans, to retain heat.

I did try it, and have to say, wasn't that impressed. You just ended up feeling cold and clammy as far as I could tell.

They showed "2001 - A space odyssey" on BBC4 last night; probably because it was a current theme.

Am I the only one who finds it boring, and slow paced, and poor acting/dialogue?

Mind, I'm not a Star Wars fan either.

Couple of quid for a pom pom maker, £1 or so for a wool needle, £2 or so for some cheap wool, £2 for other bits/bobs .... probably £3-4 for parking/fuel driving round trying to find those things .... it all adds up.

Two pieces of card from a cereal box cut into circles with a hole in the middle. Have needle and wool so sorted. Not that I wear Xmas jumpers......

Brilliant! :D That used to be Mr bugs approach to things; we have an office at one of our customers and he used to have more perks from the customer than most of the staff did;)
