One thing I picked up whilst out cost me £1. Just checked it out online and it's £11 RRP!

What did you get, and from where? Is it just a local deal? I'm all excited!

I want to buy some Microsoft software but don't fancy the £6K+ asking price.

Can I have a referral to bring it down to a couple of grand please? :D

    (No harm in asking!)

I bought office 365 for 4 users for 3 years for I think about 60 quid, didn't seem too bad.
    I think....

Probably not .... I was trying to make up a "box of cheap stocking fillers"; I'd intended to not buy gifts but then when I said I wasn't going there for Xmas I got a bleating ".... but you're going to send me presents...?"

It's annoying. The person shops till they drop; they have full access to all/more shops than me; they continually shop; they have a good income; they're very picky/awkward about things too. Yet they expect me to provide presents.... which is actually just a form of torture for me. It's a strange form of emotional abuse, often found in families I bet.

I don't expect they'll buy me a present .... but they'll expect 'something' from me. And, probably not, one random item bought online and delivered.

This is somebody that already has everything they want/need. Everything. Last time I was there I was shown some new monster juicer .... and offered either/both of their last two.... which still worked. They are shopaholics. I've no need/use for a juicer. Never had a juice!

Why do you feel an obligation to get her a present if she doesn't reciprocate?

Somebody kidnapped Doglet again. I retraced my steps and found the perpetrator, who apparently expected to be thanked.

She said she thought the dog was a stray, so I agreed with her, but said I would take the stray anyway, as I'd just bought a new Korean cookbook and there were a couple of recipes I wanted to try out.

I'm close to a clearance outlet that has bunches of random stuff.... at real clearance prices. Mostly stuff you don't want/need, but occasional "finds".

My branch isn't good .... website makes it look far more interesting than it is. I keep intending to try another branch to see if others are just as disappointing, or if the others are well stocked and as exciting looking as the website.

That's a really, really good find for just £1. Very MSE!

It doesn't work like that .... younger sibling's sense of 'entitlement' as I'm older so therefore should be giving presents.

She needs to be re-educated. Still, if you can just give her the Lowry calendar, that's a good outcome. :)

I can see how that works when you are 15 and she is say 10, even when you are 20 and working and she is still at school, but there comes a point......

We have similar but easier dilemma, I spend the same on all the nieces and nephews, one person always starts a conversation about one person having 3 kids rather than 2, so should their presents be two thirds of the amount to equalise the adults present giving budget.

There is also a great aunt who has been told numerous times that she is not required to gift the great nieces/ nephews but insists on expecting written thank you letters for a chocolate orange.
