You also need to consider that aspect of precedent - she'll feel a need to match/improve on your offering each year, so best to start low so she doesn't feel obliged to re-mortgage her soul for something expensive each year.
Just don't do what my prospective mother in law (now ex mother in law) did...she bought me a pack of full briefs, in size 20 (I was a size 10 at the time) and then proceeded to inform me she could take them back if they were too small a size!
I gave them to a friend who had just had twins via emergency C section, absolutely perfect for her and her wound. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

My previous boyfriend's mum bought me knickers as well. The reason I was mortified, as we'd never even met, but she used to clean his house while he was at work.
A bag of pretty M&S black thongs (it was the 90s!) in exactly the right size. She'd clearly seen things I'd left behind ar his house. In all fairness, they did become my favourite pants.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

When I opened them, I had a real laugh at them as I thought she had bought them as a joke and even when I found out, I was only very slightly offended that she thought I was fat (par for the course for her and our relationship at the time to be honest). Her son (now ex hubby) however, was def not amused and really quite angry with his mum.
It really was quite sweet of him, one of my good memories of my time with him, at times, he could be a real knight in shining armour....not all our times were bad, in fact in the earlier days, he was one of the best people in the world to have around you.
I still blame his medication change for his diabetes for the way he 'turned' into the monster he became at the end of our marriage. The first 10-15 years together he was the most romantic, caring, giving husband you could have with only the occasional put down/shouting/throwing things episodes. We made it! Why do I take my the defeat of my son's football team much more to heart than him?

And a whole load of other things you'd usually use beef mince for. I've had successes with pork burgers (esp nice with some chorizo mixed in and/ or cheeses on top) and pork mince lasagne.0 -

Thanks also PN, currently I have fried the pork, drained the oil, seasoned and fried some onions, the plan being to stuff the eventual mix into some pittas with peppers and salsa but the apple idea also sounds nice and although a bit greasy, topping off with grated cheese also sounds like a goer....
I care not at all whether the kids football teams win as long as they have enjoyed playing (and would be really sad if they were upset because they lost/were more interested in the result than how they played the game)...probably explains how little I earn.I think....0
