    Almost inner Hertfordshire.

I know, I like to think of it as a pilgramage. Is there an absolute centre point, a stone in a field, a blue plaque?;)

Edit: Holiday Inn at Droitwich.....think that should have been the hint for an exotic holiday!

Epitome of party animal style right now. Premier Inn next to the A1 in Stevenage. I feel like the female version of Alan Partridge:eek:

I spent a couple of months in a Premier Inn, including over Christmas, in 2005. Some b@stard even sent me a Christmas card there!:rotfl:

You lot might mock Premier Inn/Holiday Inn ... but to me that'd be the height of luxury. There are places of a quality much lower than that .... I've lived in them.

I'm not mocking. It was nice! They're both great brands.

Shows how much you have moved on from him, that you can recall the good times as well as the bad.

Even in the early days of our split up, I could recall the good times....it was one of the reasons why I went completely off Christmas, it was just far too painful remembering the good times we had had at that time of year.

Now, I have moved on in that I can look forward to Christmas again, have a tree up and not burst into tears looking at the decorations.

Unfortunately the boys, especially James, struggle to remember the good times, they can only think of the bad times and the let downs they have had from him since the marriage break up. I do try to convince them it wasn't all bad but the strength of their feelings means I am fighting against a stronger force. I think they feel abandoned by him, they see their friends having holidays with their absent parent, seeing them regularly and then look at what they get, a couple of hours a year at the most and even then, they are fitted around everything else rather than being the prime reason for a visit to our town.

Only youngest is rather ambivalent about his father but then, he didn't really have a relationship with him in the first place.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I remember reading a newspaper article about an elderly couple who had been living in a Travelodge for a number of years. I think they'd sold their house and not yet found the ideal place to move to, so moved into the Travelodge temporarily, but then realised there was no cooking or housework to do, no household bills, no Council Tax....so they just stayed there.

I know people who have lived in a travelodge for 6 months, rather than rent another house while their's has work.

It works if you are out and about, being stuck in your room 24/7 wouldn't be much fun.

Had my cardiac stress MRI this morning. They run a drug through you that creates the sensations of exercise in your heart. Feels a bit like having a heart attack. that part only lasts about 4-5 minutes. The MRI took about 45 mins to an hour.

facilities and staff were excellent, but an unpleasant experience.

Then home to another letter from DVLA requesting consent to release of edical information (in support of my Provisional disability assessment licence I think). I have another lesson booked for thursday but expect to have to cancel it as I will not have a licence to drive.

I think I am the only person who has ever voluntarily declared a health issue and they are testing all of their procedures on me:(

Have never lived in a hotel, but OH had a relocation appartment for three months in Newport Beach, California. DD and I stayed for the whole of august when she was 11.

Three swimming pools, tennis courts, Gym. Huge floor space DD's bedroom was decked in Disney.

Walking distance to a beakfast resaurant for pancakes and bacon or muffins. Walking distance to Ralphs for groceries. Amazing location for Disney, the beaches, shopping. Desert and mountains. We were so lucky.

I have to say it had one of the best beds I've ever slept in.
