Why do I take my the defeat of my son's football team much more to heart than him?
I'm gutted....(and DS? he doesn't know it yet but he will be doing some serious training in the break until new year...serves him right!)
It is meant to be the parent that says it is all about taking part, good to get out of the house for a time, good exercise, meet new people....
The child who wants to win etc.
A lot of parents seem to get over enthusiastic. OH used to manage one of the kid's teams. There were some parents who used up more energy running up and down the side line screaming at the kids than the kids themselves.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I understand that.
But I've also seen a team tear itself apart when half the team accuse others of not trying.
It isn't nice. I don't expect DS to be the best; just to put maximum effort in.0 -

And ate one.
Trouble was, I then couldn't stop.
I ate the whole of the top layer, that's 180 grams.... or 17 chocolates.
Oops.
I am like that. I will eat the whole bar/whatever it is.
It's why if I fancy a treat after a run, I will buy one of those mini pack sweets designed for kids.
The checkout assistant will often say I should buy 3 because of the multi-pack deal, but I just know I will eat all 3.
Try putting the chocs in the car; if the weather is bad the trek outside might put you off going out to get more.0 -
Successful present.
I bought OH a 1-2-1 camera lesson as his birthday present. Seems he had fun. I was hoping it would mean he could take photos without so much faffing around, but I think it means he now knows more ways to faff.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Blimey ...just uncovered widow's name! And what looks like his son's name (as I suspected, ). Seems to be some controversy. Looks like he was a brewer too (many in the family were) .... but the document isn't digitised by the National Archives. I'd have to ask them to digitise it for me. That goes on the "yeah, right" pile. Although it might be a different ... can't tell unless you pay. Date looks wrong to me.... looks more like it'd line up with being father of (maybe).
Or you can go in and read it for free (grrr!)
Don't know if this helps or not....
I've had a look through my records to see how much they charged me for items that weren't digitised that they digitised and then sent electronically. Cheapest was £2.80, most expensive £8.40. Worst value one though was in latin. I haven't a clue what it said.

I was Alan Partridge four years ago when we bought this house and Doozer removed the back wall of the house while I was shopping. We lived in the Holiday Inn Express at Droitwich for three weeks.
