Well, I wish they would bloody stop those mobile sites. Finding the 'switch to desktop' option is often difficult and the mobile ones are often just shocking. What us the purpose of them? To boost computer sales again?

Can't remember what the stats are lir but the number of people that now have mobile devices (either a mobile phone or a tablet) is massive. AIUI they overtook laptops etc a year or so back. For a lot of people they are their first ever experience of computing, as it is easy to try something and see if you like it when you can pick up a tablet for under £100, it's never been that easy with a laptop. Plus keyboards put off people. Touch screens are more user friendly for people who are scared by what looks like technology.

There's not a day that goes by in library land without someone enquiring about how to use their new tablet. Massive increase, particularly amongst pensioners.

In short, the genie is out of the bottle. I much prefer standard websites, but they will become old school at some point.

I was confused for a moment as I'm posting from my mobile (which is possibly a phablet. What a horrible word). Then I remembered that the story I linked to was about mobile sites :o

I agree, pretty much the first thing I do is look for the desktop version. In an attempt to make everything visually less cluttered too much gets hidden away begins menus that are difficult to find/ navigate.

Just ran my 2 business sites through it, my video business is awesome (according to the test) but my photography site isn't, sort of already knew that really.

On that note I have had a breakthrough on the video business, after much testing/tweaking/pulling hair out I am now able to film in 3D, I am filming a talent show at the weekend but will be filming one of the acts in 3D as a full scale test at the dress rehearsal.

Same here on my phone, I also don't like the lack of functions on mobile sites or apps.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Yeah, I was eyeing up the weed killer in the cheap warehouse yesterday .... but then I couldn't buy any as there was choice.... and choice means you do nothing as you're not sure if they're any good, or which one :)

Roundup is great. AKA glycophosphate I believe.
