Watching a really interesting programme on BBC4 about Pakistan. I didn't know that they had ancient civilisations with bathrooms in their homes and towns of 70,000 inhabitants over 4000 years ago. I also didn't know that the Buddha came from Pakistan. Worth catching on iPlayer if anyone is interested (though apologies for the spoilers if you do, unless you knew already that is).

It's called Treasures of the Indus. It's episode 1 of 3 of the Pakistan Unveiled series.

I have some currys vouchers from when my iron broke under warranty and they didn't have a replacement that I want to use up before I forget about them and they expire. Spending money at Currys is generally hard as they tend to be expensive but they have an offer on an actifry 99 down from 149 which seemed competitive - except if you ask bespoke offers to beat the price with 15% quidco you can get it for 77 which is obviously much cheaper but defeats the object of using the vouchers...

Have you looked at selling the vouchers through zeek?

Single sue, the video is blocked.

What device are you trying to play it on? Working fine on my computer and phone. Sometimes find if you use the app on an Ipad, phone or tablet that it can cause problems.

Just read on.....it could be the weird and wonderful way Youtube likes to block things for some countries. Most annoying to be honest as there doesn't seem to be any set criteria!

Aren't Currys doing good deals on backup hard drives at the moment? 1-2 Tb using USB 2 and 3 or thereabouts? Useful part of your backup strategy.

Is there any way, under the T&Cs, that you can buy something with the vouchers, then take it back the next week (unopened) and get given more/newer vouchers?

Think the windows will be being replaced before they get matching dressings... And that's not so close to the top of the list. One thing at a time. Need my finances to settle down again too :(

About 15 years ago, when I had a shedload of windows that wanted something (blinds I decided), I had a look round at prices and measured my windows up. I then decided that I didn't need "blinds to fit precisely", so long as they were about the right width and covered the glass area, nobody would ever notice that one had a slightly wider gap either side than another window had. I also didn't worry about drop (except they needed to be long ones, 6' drop, as they were big windows).....

I then went onto ebay and found a supplier that supplied every width/drop I wanted in the same range.

I needed: 6 for two bays, 2 bedroom blinds, 1 back room blind, 1 wide kitchen blind, 1 very small bathroom blind and one wide/not so high rear room blind. 12 in total, cost me under £120 delivered. Then I paid a local handy man £25 to fit the lot. He charged £25/hour, so as he was fitting them I was madly unpacking them and handing them to him. One hour it took .... went like a whirlwind. He was top quality too and I never had an issue with any of the fittings.

I liked them so much (price/availability) that I kept the wrapping cardboard and even have it right here in this room intending to search for the name again. homestyle2000.co.uk

I just picked 1" white plastic.

Some prices of some blinds are horrific.

Here I can't decide what to do ..... I think the kitchen "needs" wider/wooden ones ...but that'd mean doing the upstairs/front too the same. So I do nothing.

Thanks, although it appears there is only an app for it, not much use on a pc (even if it is a windows tablet). Just seen that apparently tesco vouchers are top sellers, interesting as I thought generally Tesco vouchers are supposed to be non-transferable

We seem to have escaped the bad weather up here in the North.

It's been a bit overcast and light showers, but I can cope with that.

Discovering that the puppy has found a liking for rolling about in horse muck I can't cope with ! :D

The techie forum on here has heaps of good advice on that side of things. I remember some NP (was it sc?) knew some sites for good laptops for students. There's the website software4students for software
