rather distinctive
Very nice, fresh, posh looking.
My legal paperwork includes stuff like not being able to alter the front wall, but then it's part of a run/matching 7 other neighbours and just a few years old... and I've no reason to. It's made me wonder, now if my potential new gate needs to be a different colour to black!...patches of earth within the railings...
Shells. Or small gravel mixed with shells.
You now need to coordinate your front window stuff .... e.g. blinds all round, the same.0 -

I think our deeds state that the original homeowners (1920s) were responsible for arranging their own fences/ walls for the front gardens. Might explain why no two are the same (though some are now even more different than the others).
I'd say go for it in terms of colours.
Garden-wise - going to put in borders. As previously mentioned, lavenders either side of the path. Not sure what will go in the other borders yet, but I've already been buying slate chippings (to go with the slate of the main roof, shells will be great at yours, not so much for landlubbers here!) for the other sides. Non-grass lawn (currently thinking thyme and camomile) for the centres.
Think the windows will be being replaced before they get matching dressings... And that's not so close to the top of the list. One thing at a time. Need my finances to settle down again too0 -
If you've got people lounging around at the bus stop looking for somewhere to sit, you're as well getting rid of that wall!

That's great! It's also a reminder of how better off you are in Nikksterville than that there London.
Yeah. Think the studio flat I lived in with ex was probably not far off the same sq. m as my now front dirt patch.
He's probably lucky I'd not discovered sledgehammers back then either.0 -

We have baby sparrows, baby magpies and the bird I can't identify (green woodpecker?). First World Problem
I have some currys vouchers from when my iron broke under warranty and they didn't have a replacement that I want to use up before I forget about them and they expire. Spending money at Currys is generally hard as they tend to be expensive but they have an offer on an actifry 99 down from 149 which seemed competitive - except if you ask bespoke offers to beat the price with 15% quidco you can get it for 77 which is obviously much cheaper but defeats the object of using the vouchers...I think....0 -

I wanted the railings themselves to be on the plain side, esp. as I had an unusual colour in mind (they can be made more [STRIKE]boring[/STRIKE] conventional with e.g. black paint if the need arises).
...
That colour takes me back.
I had a student job way back when, part of which involved painting railings and gates at a local mill.
The colour chosen was very similar, and someone had the idea that I and a fellow student were to try out these new painting mittens instead of brushes.
They were supposed to be designed to stop paint getting on the hands.
Guess what! I spent the next few weeks with turquoise hands!! (think blue man group on the cheap :rotfl: )0 -

Buy the Actifry and enjoy it, sometimes lifes too short
I buy most of my running gear from a local shop, despite the internet yielding prices a bit cheaper.
It's important to find things like running shoes which suit, rather than blindly buying cheaper alternatives off 'tinternet. The guys and girls in the shop are all knowledgeable and enthusiasts.
I'd hate the high street to become just bookies and chip shops and nail bars.0
