There aren't enough superlatives to say how pleased I am for you.
Thank you viva, mystic_trev and Nikkster (and everyone else that will post similar sentiments). I was always pretty sure that this was going to be the outcome in a crapping myself kinda way.:jvivatifosi wrote: »How will you celebrate tonight?
A glass of cheap white wine and home made chicken pie (we had shepherds pie yesterday which is The Boy's favourite and I like to follow up with roast chicken or chicken pie which are The Girl's favourites).0 -

I'm pleased you have such a positive result. There are some people who glide serenely through life, taking things as they come and not worrying beforehand. I don't quite know how they do it, but I suspect they are much happier as a result.
I'm sure that worrying about the future and analysing what went wrong in the past are positive survival traits. But sometimes we take it too far, brooding over things we can't change. That may make us hard to live with, which is not a positive survival trait.
Have you considered a big party, to say to yourself and your family that you consider this illness beaten? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I visited Vietnam over 20 years ago (just after it opened for business) it was wonderful to find French baguettes for sale at the roadside. Something from the French Colonial days that had outlasted the American "occupation"
Frightening to see the number of humans that could fit on a small motorbike. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -
Brilliant news Gen xxWe made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

I wouldn't dream of speaking for PN, but for myself what you are selling as its attractions I would pay not to go...
Too many other people, and I don't think I would like to be enclosed in any sort of bubble. I hate being enclosed and have to have the window open all year round. Don't do sauna or pampering - I am really very low maintenance...
It really is a marmite holiday resort.
Before I ever went I thought I would hate it. I had pre conceived notions of what it would be like.
For me I was proven wrong. As Zag explains CenterParcs are very well laid out. Numbers wise they have the balance right.
The thing which may annoy some is clearly evidenced when you walk through the large central car parks.
Every other car is a Chelsea tractor 4x4 which rarely sees mud (mine never ventures off road).
Does this mean CP is elitist or the price help keeps out the Chavs? That's a tricky one!0 -
Oh, Gen! Hooray, hooray, hooray! :j :j :j
gfplux Apparently there's a shortage of baguettes in Paris atm. The people who arrange such things decided to let the bakers choose when they'd have their summer holiday this year, rather than going on a rota, and an awful lot of them have gone away at the same time.....
I remember when we lived in Belgium for a couple of years, we were amazed to find some of the bakeries were open on Christmas Day. Nice to be able to still get fresh bread, not to mention some choccy animals :T
Spirit I'm sure your Bank Holiday break will be fine. Wishing you good weatherWhereabouts in France are you going? Am a bit envious that you've been to Borneo! And it wasn't until I saw it on your list that I remembered I've been to Cyprus a few times as well, fancy forgetting that! Lovely place.

I mentioned the other day that DD was struggling on achieving the grade points for a couple of the A level subjects she had picked.
We knew the FE college would be challenging on the results. They have a great reputation which they are keen to maintain.
They obviously didn't reckon on DW's determination in their meeting yesterday however!
The result is that DD is being allowed to pursue what I think are 3 tough A-levels.
Result? On one level yes, but I tend to think that exam results are one of life's lessons which should make you take stock of your education plan. Being flexible to change isn't a bad thing IMO.0
