If the bricks need mortar chipping off, then it's cost to the builder to do it. Easier to buy new bricks in that case - if it's his money being spent!
No mortar, we are talking block pavers laid on sand and despite our car troubles none has been an oil leaker so they are actually pretty attractive (imho)I think....0 -
GBBO tonight, after Great British Menu and Hairy Bikers at the moment :j:j:j
One of these days, I would like to be able to cycle home without having to pull my waterproofs on en route ...

Mine are reclaimed from Gloucestershire. We collected them in 20 tonne grab wagons and they were tipped out onto the ground from
the dumper. Very strong things. Ours still have tumble scratches buti like the character.
So yeah, you shouldn't need new ones.

When I was in my twenties, I fell down a flight of stairs in the underground. I badly sprained my ankle (as well as getting concussion). That ankle took over ten years to heal fully, ie much, much longer than a broken bone. So, based on my anecdotal account, it's entirely possible that DS's pain is as a result of the car accident.
Could you perhaps take him to see a physio privately? That would not be all that expensive, and you might get some insight.
We saw a physio on the NHS. They decided that what we needed was an OT hand specialist. She saw him twice and decided that problems specific to writing need to be dealt with by a paediatric OT because they are the ones who usually deal with them. The paediatric OT was awesome on our phone appointment, but the wait for an actual treatment appointment may be very long, unlike the reasonable waiting times we've had for the other people in that process. We need someone with experience of dealing with applying for access arrangements for exams on medical grounds, and the NHS people we've seen all seem to agree that a paediatric OT is what we need for that.
Thank you to all NP who've encouraged me that this should be possible.
I'm planning to phone my solicitor about it tomorrow. He may know something. I imagine that in the first instance we'll need a new medical legal assessment to send to the defendants to say he needs the treatment and to assess the probability that the problem was caused by the accident before we go any further. I'll let you know how it goes.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Good luck Lydia0

*oblivious*
It was NOT your fault.
As lir has said, we have been emailing each other. I think the conversation is closed now. I am not going to go into details other than to say that I have told her how sorry I am, and that I never meant to hurt her. I would like to tell the NP how sorry I am for unintentionally being the cause of her leaving the thread. I know you will all miss her - so will I - and I hope you will forgive me.Do you know anyone who's bereaved?
