No kidding.
Parts of Scotland were down to 3 degrees overnight in the last few days.I want to put the heating on, which is crazy for the time of year.
It's almost August and we pretty much haven't had anything resembling summer this year.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Gen, if you are around, what's the mid winter temp there today? It's 13 degrees here currently, wondering if an Aussie winter is warmer than an English summer.
Today's high temp is only set to be 18, that will be lower with wind chill. I want to put the heating on, which is crazy for the time of year.
Max today was 14C which is unseasonably cold as we're coming out of winter now really. 18C predicted for the next couple of days then 21C on Thursday which is a bit more like it.
Nights have been cold: 5-8C or thereabouts. It's 7pm and I've got the air con on heat.
I would describe a normal winter's day in Sydney as being cold and damp in the morning with a maximum temperature of a bit under 20C. Nice in the sun but nippy in the shade.
If you go up to the north NSW coast then it rarely goes below 20C maximum temperature. No need to do anything drastic like emigrating to QLD.
Down in Mexico (NSW slang for Victoria) it's colder in winter. This weeks is typical with maxima predicted at 13-14C in Melbourne.0 -

Meanwhile here in blighty it's the middle of Summer,18c and a little damp. My neighbours decided to take Global warming seriously, and has contractors in installing Air conditioning :rotfl:0 -

That's really nice , lir, though the pic makes it look pale-green-and -lilac-striped to me.

Our central heating is broken:(. Engineer coming 9am on Thursday. The cooker is still working so the kitchen is cosy and yesterday we had the woodburner alight in the sitting room , OH will light it again this evening. This afternoon from about 1.30 -3pm I sat out in the garden having coffee with a friend, it was glorious sunshine. Then the sun went behind a bank of cloud and it got very cold so we came indoors .0

You southern softie
Bear in mind spirit might be hampered in activity to keep warm and even body self regulation ATM.
I have been cold today, but we still have the windows open and I wouldn't put central heating on, but I'm less disciplined that Spirit and have no shame curling up under blankets with animals.0 -

My personal thermostat is broken and i have gone from being someone who never felt cold to someone who gets cold very quickly causing muscle tone to kick in drawing up left arm making my hand clench into a fist and stiffening the left of my torso.I am wearing corduroy leggings, a tee shirt and a zip up warm jacket and silk socks.
I have just come back from a walk did 2.08 miles in 72 minutes. Now having gin & tonic whilst OH cooks dinner.0 -

Yes, I thought it likely.. I find that my situation is that I struggle with change of temperature and anything my body considers ' extreme. So, too warm, too cold. Going in and out from warm to cold too warm can be difficult, ( like shopping in winter) but also things like eating because of impact on temperature. I naturally run cold, but don't really mind that, but I think its almost irrelevant in me what I did 'naturally' , but its certainly not helping you ATM.
Would you feel too nuts wearing a hat in the house. I have a silk turban think, like some broad from the golden era of talkies might wear in her dressing room, from PATRA, I think. Its hideous of course, but easy to put on, hair friend ly and warm but not hot. I wear it in the house and on the yard. It keeps my earswarm and a bit covered too0
