Train sounds fun.

While we are talking destinations, any body know Vienna well? Have I asked this already? Might be about to get a Lot of pressure to visit. Not necessarily opposed, I'd like to go to Vienna....not sure about travelling of course ( I'd probably have to go in advance and recuperate for a couple of days ( alone, in a hotel) think, its the only way I can see it working. then of course, already being in hotel we'd stay there....
Bratislava is only an hour away from Vienna by train, or a little more by boat - well worth doing if you have the time.
There seem to be a lot of beggars in Vienna and a lot of ladies in burkas shopping. There is a lot of mainstream stuff and also plenty of quirky things for fun. Lippizaners were on the summer break when we were there so didn't see them.
Plenty of concerts, if that's your thing - some very touristy and some not so.
We stayed in a very central hotel, just opposite St Stephen's Cathedral.0 -

Conan Doyle wrote a Sherlock Holmes story about precisely this, minus the BMW of course. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
We had funnel webs in the back yard of our last house.
They are definitely not cute.
Apparently, whilst being at least theoretically fatal to humans, they are about as bothersome as a wasp to dogs.
Agreed they don't look cute, just checked and they are still there.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

I dusted off my hot water bottle last night
Me too!
I have a couple of 'cardigowns' - fluffy dressing gown material / style but of cardigan length. I resorted to wearing that too yesterday evening as I couldn't justify putting the fire or heating on.
To be fair, I was already a little damp after my cycle home. My waterproof trousers may no longer pass the Trade descriptions act in the seat area ... :eek:Summer has arrived!
She weighes 10lb 3oz and came yesterday. A daughter for OH's nephew .
Many congrats to all :j0 -

I noticed on patra yesterday bed jackets and thought, 'what a good idea' then thought...whoah, I'm so old now. I wouldn't wear a dressing gown until the last few years, always hated them. I had a big sweat shirt I wore, or a tshirt in the summer.
I have a couple of old 'shrugs/ cocoon' type things my grandmother knitted for my mother in the seventies I think, I like them, though they are hilarious looking. And I schlep around in cardis.
M and s has a nice looking cashmere dressing gown.....for only two hundred. But how would I keep animal hair off, and its black, I'd prefer something like .....camel maybe?
From someone who only started wearing dressing gowns in the last few years its a big leap to thinking about practicalities of cashmere.0 -

You'll need another freezer to keep your cashmere away from the Moths!Actually I should empty the cashmere out of ours and take it to the caravan ready for autumn/winter... Or summer this year - it can be decidedly chilly in the caravan when it's windy. And it usually rains all of August in Abersoch, plus the constant south westerly gales rushing down the patio... Heaven only knows why I indulged in a gas barbie - doesn't get a lot of use when we're all there together. Though we did use it a couple of times in the spring.
Was it Ivyleaf complaining about pigeons being loud on her guttering? Just wanted to say you should hear the ones that land on caravan - they gotta be wearing hobnail boots they make such a racket! :rotfl:0 -
Ahhh... now I get it. My hoodie isn't just a hoodie, it doubles up as a modern day bed jacket0

Gorgeous sky here, so got camera out to take a pic from my bed. And then this humungous boat appeared on the river. It looks high in the water to me, so must have delivered whatever it carries and is going back for more.
