Yes I have due to my fear of potentially being recognisable

In terms of nice off topic stuff I have today bought my first Leonard Cohen album (popular problems) , despite being aware of him for years never owned his stuff.

Got to say I'm blown away. This is up there with my favourite songs at the moment:

Just made use of the stackable champagne discount on the weekly email. I gave up trying stuff a while back as it rarely works by the time I've seen anything, there are so many people.

Bring back the good old days when i'd have £250 in clubcard vouchers and a cupboard full of ridiculously cheap toiletries from Boots.

One of our friends does that. Lectures at uni, but on the side recently qualified to drive steam engines in Scotland. So your son has decent ideas that I know work. :)

I told The Boy this. You made his day.:T

Having stir fry with brown rice for dinner. It's the worst stir fry I think Mrs Generali has ever made but it's still fantastic, better than my best.

I do the cooking by and large at Generali Towers but stir fry is one thing that Mrs Generali is brilliant at. She also makes very good home-made pasta; not the sauces but the pasta itself.

I didn't even understand what half that means.

I use my Clubcard every time I go in, I get about £2 of vouchers a year, MAX. I think last year they sent the statutory leaflet saying "not reached the minimum".

Think you need to reach £2.50 to get a voucher.

That would be £250 of straight forward spending in Tesco stores or £500 in petrol or some combination thereof. There are also special promotions of 25+ points when you buy x,y or z and even points for surveys etc.

Welcome mistermeaner! The first post sort of introduces the concept of the thread. Your chosen song was very welcome (although this is not a music thread).

    I will counterpost this

Ivyleaf, I am familiar with the gulls of Brixham having once bought fish and chips and eating them in a car park while waiting for a party of people; instead a party of gulls arrived and surrounded me and I felt like Tippi Hedrin and I can see how Daphne DuMaurier got her idea for the Birds.

When they peck open your front door,
    How you gonna come?
With your hands on your chips,
Or on the trigger on your gun?

Interesting juxtaposition of the verse and chorus. He definitely has one of those voices. Even more so now. Haunting.

I chose a Leonard Cohen song, Suzanne, mum's funeral. She used to ask me to play it to her on the guitar.

My aunt and uncle both wept through it and told me it reminded them so much of her as she'd play it over and over in her room as a teenager. It was nice to learn something that day. I'm glad I chose it. Can't listen to it now, of course.

It's one of life's blessings to be able to show your love for someone at a funeral like that.

I'm glad you shared with us.

The priest at my mum's funeral was so stuffy, I couldn't do anything different and it saddened me. I don't think some religious people get it.

    DQWD:

My Mum and sister completely overruled me about every single aspect of my Dad's funeral and of the events leading to his death. I was livid and TBH am still not that impressed a decade later. I spoke at the funeral and that was it.

The crematorium screwed up the music that I wasn't allowed to have a choice about. In some ways I was happy about that.

I want my body to be given to a medical student or researcher to do as they will with it and hopefully either make life a bit better or help cure something. If people want to remember my death then they can do it with whom and where they like.
