Let's hope there are no politicians reading the boards, in case they suggest that as a cure to the Calais problem.

In all seriousness though, every time I hear about Calais I think about poor bugslet and how she must be tearing her hair out.

I am fed up with finding new ways in which my waterproof trousers might not quite be up to the job any longer.

    When is summer returning?!

I feel really sorry for school children in years like this, especially those with shorter holidays, who have just broken up, and everyone is saying 'pfft, summer is a washout'. It is miserable, especially after a grim time up north, and a bizarrely good time here in sw early on in the season, but .....it might well pick up.

August is usually a high rainfall month, but different sort of rain.

Well I am in Englandshire at the moment and the weather is about ten degrees hotter than its been in Scotlandshire this summer!

The beer is sufficiently refreshing that I haven't succumbed to heatstroke quite yet thankfully.....

I must be the only one relieved it is not too hot. After last week, this weather is perfect. Mind you it has been a pleasant 18-21 degrees with litte rain since I got back.

There is a green bird in our garden, never seen it before but it looks very strange.
