We have no barking dog, just barking neighbours - the fence panels are starting to break up after numerous games of "your side -my side".

Journey home was as planned except I had to wait for 5 mins at the train station, luckily Blackfriars over the river was pleasant and for some reason not crowded

IN my day young adults were much more independent, when I had a GF we would manage contacts between our parents as we saw fit, it was none of their business.

I'm barely able to stay awake today. In the freezer we have some lollipops. I think I am going to say sugar be damned and have one of those for supper.

I think i would want to celebrate with my offspring in a relaxed manner and that it all becomes more complicated with doing it jointly with GF's parents, agreeing venue etc. and all the small talk.

agree with nikks on tactics, chat in the poste event drinks marquee then tootle off, unless son wants to be with GF.

TOP TIP : make sure you get some photo's of your son alone or just with family. A Friends son insisted his GF was included in all photos, when it ended shortly afterwards there were no graduation photos allowed to be displayed.

Thanks all!

We will now find out if BBQ cooking is as difficult as the men would have us believe. OH said light the coals and I will be home to cook....then his flight was delayed.
