I think they are required to get arsey above £10k due to money laundering concerns..
It would be well above that in a single transaction.
So does that mean they wouldn't process it at all or just that there would be a minor delay with telephone call, security questions, etc?“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Well done Silver Jr and good luck on the job front. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I would think a minor delay. I would expect a curious security question, like how often do you receive statements or where did you last see your bank manager - something that couldn't be revealed by someone snooping. For money laundering, they usually ask me the purpose of the payment and just note down what I say, with no further queries. It can cause a delay if the person that was dealing with your request isn't senior enough to give authority, but I would think of a delay of minutes rather than hours.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Or an amount beyond which one's bank may get arsey about it?
Can you just pay via faster payments? Santander will let you do 49,999 although the first transaction will require a phone call to authorise it.DS2 BSc (Hons) got a 2.1. :j
See, good genes will always manifest themselves...MSc starts in September. One more year until the real world beckons.
Or there is always a PHD, and then post doc etc....
I had to fill in an online thing to confirm my ID for tax credits renewal, the depth of knowledge of my finances required even afer NI number, driving licence details, address, time at address etc was really difficult, probably because they asked me about bank account and credit card info - I guess these questions are easier for people who have less than a dozen of eachI think....0 -

Depends what you're driving... :whistle:Sounds like you're having one hell of a party.
Sadly not, just a routine payment coming up for a purchase and seeing if I can avoid the delay of a bank transfer after a final inspection of the item.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

I'm guessing a property?
If this is a payment to a firm of solicitors, the bank won't be worried about money laundering issues as they know that the solicitors have the obligation to check all that out.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
