I can now have a bath - didn't dare before in case I missed the delivery.
I came to the same conclusion when ours arrived and opened the boxes downstairs, the individual parts were then manageable.I think....0 -

In the past I've picked up half a divan without its drawers and trotted it upstairs ... there are two side pieces in the boxes, each side panel alone seem to weigh 10Kg! I walked the first one up the stairs, one step at a time - trouble is, once you've started you can't stop ... and mid-way there was a bit of a wobbly moment when I thought it was all about to go teets up
Opened the boxes downstairs. Half the bits are up the stairs already.
Look on the bright side - if you have taken it up in 1 then you have saved yourself half a dozen trips.....I think....0 -
I feel like we're living in a parallel universe at the moment.
In FIFA news Chuck Blazer had an apartment in New York for his cats paid for by the organisation; Jack Warner was helped by FIFA to rig national elections and the Germans supposedly provided surface to air missiles to the Saudis in exchange for votes. All "allegedly" of course.
In world news ISIS has started killing the Taliban.
And in Hertfordshire, Grandmaster Flash is playing the Alban Arena (not an arena in the normal concert sense) while the Buzzcocks play Harpenden town hall. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I gather the Inner Herts NP heartland is to be connected with the Outer Herts region by a new rail link. :TThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
I'm still hoping for the West Herts Crossrail zag. That's due to run to Heathrow if it happens, which would be great. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Not sure that bit of herts counts as Inner Herts proper....
OTOH crossrail 1 will mean that we are 22 minutes to Farringdon then 8 mins to Canaray Wharf or 32 mins to LHR which would transform a couple of the commutes I have done in my life.I think....0 -
DS2 has split up with the girlfriend.
I was suspicious that they had not made any plans for the Summer. He says they can still be friends. Time will tell. You mentioned my city in another thread a month or so ago on the housing board, we have a rugby club just promoted, a cricket team, horse racing and a pretty useless non league football team. Not sure where you are exactly but was under the impression you are north of me from that thread.Doozergirl wrote: »Yes, you're right
I'm in your city a lot, too.

In other glum news, two carriages on a ride crashed into each other at Alton Towers and there are casualties. Photos online containing lots of blood

I knew youngest's 6th form college was good.....and it is. It has just been rated outstanding in the latest OFSTED report.
I'm not able to post details at this moment in time, but I cannot understate how irrelevant in so many ways an ofsted report is/can be.It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0
