There's a documentary on the box now about dentist-avoiders. Ironically they seem to have sent them to the least sympathetic dentists. Plus they're trying out teeth-whitening toothpastes which I always thought just shaved off the enamel and made your teeth mkore sensitive.

I think my dentist is better than any of them. The NHS one can't do loads of stuff and I didn't like the private one. I'm on Denplan, pay £x a month then all is free except lab costs. eg I have to pay for the crown but not for the work to get it put on. Hygienist 4 times a year too. Though don't think I've managed more than 3 times a year as Life Happens and lets face it dental hygienist prob the first thing that doesn't get caught up on afterwards! <roll eyes> No wonder my teeth a mess. But getting better.

    Sorry, boring!

    Beep gate all over again

Smoke detector as gone off twice at 1:15 and 2:12 for less than 5 seconds and stopped. No sign of any smoke. More than frustrated. Separate Carbon monoxide detector has not gone off. Frustrated.
    I think....

Hopefully you'll get back to sleep soon. Night night.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

We went down to the summer duvet last night. Fir is still asleep, but it took me ages to get to sleep, and while I'm warm now, I was cold last night. In the end I did an odd thing with blankets, around head and body on the sides that didn't touch fir at the time, and kiwi obligingly curled up next to my feet ( he can be a little grumpy about any movement in the bed) the cats helped too.

Doesn't sound great. I doubt that many do in that situation though.

A poster here has shown the tremendous medical advances in treating this sort of thing.

Hope all goes well and make sure to look after yourself too.

    Don't quote, will delete.

    That's good.

    That isn't so good.

It is the uncertainty that is draining. Not knowing how thing will pan out, whether you should rush over or wait....

PN, your furniture delivery and taking a bath shows how life does carry on even at the most difficult of times and that you do have the strength to get through it.

The best thing you can do for them at this time is take good care of yourself, to maintain your wellbeing.

That doesn't sound too good Pastures, but then my personal family experience is not great - last year my dad had a severe stroke after suffering a series of mini strokes (culminating in vascular dementia) and only survived a month tops :(

Fortunately, despite living 90 minutes away at the time we were able to get over to visit him a few times before the call came that he'd passed away - this was after he'd been discharged and had returned to his nursing home. Sadly we weren't with him at the end though.

With my mum - two months ago - it all happened way too quickly. By then we had sold the Wilts house and bought our new home, so were now three and a half hours drive from the nursing home. We had a call first thing to say her condition (severe Alzheimer's, but no other serious health issues) was deteriorating and we were just debating whether to drop everything to drive down when a second call came to say she had passed away.......amongst other things it was Deep Vein Thrombosis that caused her death. Last time we had seen her was ten days previously on Mother's Day.

Agree with Spirit, that you mustn't neglect yourself in all this....take care x

Youngest's first year at college has resulted in a Distinction * and a distinction...and of course his maths GCSE.

    So chuffed!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
