No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

I'm that sort of loser ... if I'd been offered that share in 1976 I'd have snorted in his face. If I'd also held a 10% share I'd have asked him if he knew anybody else prepared to buy mine for $800.
In 1976 I was earning 84p/hour as a typing temp in the school holidays. That'd have been about 6 months earnings!0 -

OH has been to Dorringtons for me on the school run, had an argument with Gatwick security about the jam filling, and now it turns out her flight will be an hour late.
It's going to be so nice not to eat crap again for dinner tonight (ok, it's only a sandwich), and to see OH/DD's again
Am I allowed to admit I cried a little in Poland's performance earlier when the older video came on? (shown at just after 1:20 here)💙💛 💔0 -

Everyone is meant to contribute to that ( this is where the system breaks down some what....RP cannot stand to wait so just rushes out to buy stuff) But then I photo the list and add it to my shopping list for week / however long ahead and everything should be covered.
Once, when the boys were due home, I started an online order with Tesco and gave the boys the account details. The intention being they would add any food they particularly wanted to the order. I was expecting their favourite juices and yoghurts and the general stuff that allegedly I always get wrong.
Big mistake. I ended up with enough juice to fill lir's lake! An assortment of breakfast cereals that would impress a hotel. and a bread shop.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Safe? Have you had problems too?
I got threatened with a kicking if I went to a meetup just before I left the UK for Aus.0 -

It was a Ford Sierra, and losing a back tire on a RWD car at 70mph was rather scary
I read this as the lump of metal you hit was a Ford Sierra!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I once posted criticism of a company's marketing methods and got an email from the forum team saying that company were threatening to take MSE to court, so they were removing all criticism of the company, rather than be independent.lostinrates wrote: »Thank you Sir.. I think its a shame it didn't have legs tbh. But there you go. Thought experiment and discussion and education over how this could impact markets and economy and social implications are less interesting to some than pipping insults. Shame. My mind could do with a stretch and I would have liked to stretch it so...but it didn't get the opportunity.

I don't think I commented because it was something where I didn't think I knew the right answer and would have ended up arguing with myself in any post, I think I am like the poster who suggested that everyone else should provide a 365 economy but that I should definitely get weekends off...oh and weekends should continue to 'feel' different to weekdays with less bustle even though all services should be available....
.
La. That's part of the discussion, to explore our expectations and contrariness and juxtapositions..

With 24 hour living/working, I think that jobs for health and security should be 24 hours: e.g. police to catch thieves and doctors to save lives.
But we don't need a loaf of bread at 4am. Nor do I need to phone a company to enquire if my order for a dress has been despatched, nor do I need to go into the local library at midnight (although evenings/weekends would be good).
It's a balance between life and limb need ..... and first world wants.
I'd have solicitors who work in some areas working to, say, 6pm on Fridays and all day Saturdays. e.g. take conveyancers where most people complete (and have a problem with that) on a Friday/Saturday. Same with the lenders advancing that money. Those jobs are part of well-being/housing/shelter, so more essential than, say, a solicitor who deals with defending a burglar ... they really need to work a LOT less, so more get locked up due to being unable to defend themselves adequately and get out of being a scrote.0
