I'm in here and it's occasionally sunny out there. But there are flies (midges?) I can see hovering and flying around ... and the occasional gust of wind.
But, if I went out there I'd be doing what? Staring at the grass!
In here I've the comfort of a sofa, a telly and PC.
What do people do out there, alone, for hours?
I guess if I could have the telly and Internet out there I could see the point... but all the "things" are in this room.
On the other hand, the only people that could answer that are, too, inside, on their PC
I do.
Either outside gardening (which isn't quite the same as what you're asking about, I know). Or if the wheelie bin is full and it's warm, just sitting/ lying around.

Viva, I seem to remember you looked into this, we would like a screen for our bifold doors which are about 4.5m long and ideally we would want to be able to pass through them with minimum hassle - did you find anything suitable?I think....0 -
I'm not outside today, though I'd planned to be. Quite chilly and overcast, despite forecast to contrary. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I don't have a door as wide as that, so wasn't looking. In the end I bought my materials in the US and shipped back to make here.
I've seen something that JML does, which on second thoughts might also be useful for Pastures... this...

It's probably also worth checking The Fly screen Queen's website.
And these people make both cassettes, which was the initial solution I looked at, plus pre made click in panels, prob a better bet for big doors as their catalogue is quite wide..

If you or a mate are up to making the frames for them, you can buy the fly screen mesh pretty cheaply:

I wouldn't be without them now.0 -
Don't know what's going on with my post above, but when I add a link it takes out one of the others. Anyhoo... Fly Screen Queen website..

That's what we did. The materials were so much cheaper overseas though. A roll with enough material on to make 4 small Windows or two big cost $7.99 per roll. It's much more here. I think The Fly Screen Queen sells on Amazon. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I spend as much time as I can outside all year round as enough time is spend indoors during the week doing the paid stuff. Even in the winter I can be found wrapped up warm in the garden catching up on phone calls to friends and family or pottering.
Today I have been dog walking and have spent hours gardening, but equally I'm happy to sit and read or just sleep in the shade enjoying the warmth. Just about to spend at least another hour walking the dogs again.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Citronella candle would get rid of flies and midges.
I sit on the patio, working on my laptop sometimes.michaels wrote:I would pay good money for the chance to lie on the swing seat in the garden and doze/read/tablet for a few hours (or the whole day to be honest). I fear it will not be until the kids leave home that I get that pleasure again.
If you allocated a part of the garden for the kids to grow plants, you could "supervise" from the swing seat. A good excuse would be to buy a trampoline, then you would have to supervise.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
