I was going to rewrite my freezer inventory today as it has got a little messy with lots of erasing and additions squeezed in, but as soon as I has washed the black board.... Now I'm tired, and having erased my freezer inventory, have no idea what is in the freezer. I cannot believe I was so stupid not to have taken a photo first to work from. :(. I was going to double check every thing anyway, but still....

    A freezer inventory???

What happened to the idea of opening the freezer and looking what was in there?

Isn't that a bit like checking the weather app on your phone rather than looking out of the window?

    No, not quite.
When I felt it was "safe" to return (latest gossip suggests it isn't btw) I clicked around a few other threads.

In some ways, I cannot believe how nasty certain areas of this site, and certain posters have become.

Is it just me & having rose tinted glasses, or are there some really confrontational posters now?

We are a safe haven in hell.

I have had very odd PMs from people. Also OH (who is not on here or facebook) had his name and our village named on here by some vindictive poster who felt they had been wronged by the company that OH was a director of (forum guardians agreed to remove the name of the village).

I once posted criticism of a company's marketing methods and got an email from the forum team saying that company were threatening to take MSE to court, so they were removing all criticism of the company, rather than be independent.

A lesson on why it's a bad idea for people to be sleeping around, producing children willy nilly with many partners http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3092403/Moment-gay-lovers-met-internet-dating-site-discover-long-lost-BROTHERS-taking-DNA-test-Jeremy-Kyle-show.html

Erm, am I the only one thinking "who's bothered?".

The issue of incest is real because of genetic inbreeding.

I can't imagine these 2 were going to be the world's first male couple to produce offspring together.

Actually, it does matter. It keeps the Jezzer Kyle ratings up. For that, we should all be ashamed.

I agree. Does it really matter?

We knew people who had both lost their spouses at a young age. They met through their kids school when their kids were mid teens and 2 of them started going out. (a kid from each of the adults rather than siblings - this is real life not JK). They held off getting married until the kids were 16 because there is some law that you cannot marry your step sibling if you have lived with them in the same family unit before the age of 16 - even though they are not biologically related.

I thought you posted a really thought provoking thread the other day.

Apart from a few long running grudge matches I thought the debate was a bit better of late...obviously as long as you don't mention the 'S' word.....

Thank you Sir. :). I think its a shame it didn't have legs tbh. But there you go. Thought experiment and discussion and education over how this could impact markets and economy and social implications are less interesting to some than pipping insults. Shame. My mind could do with a stretch and I would have liked to stretch it so...but it didn't get the opportunity. :(

Surely, Jeremy Kyle show wannabees aside, the real danger of unwitting incest is kids produced using donor sperm or eggs? The risk for adopted kids must be low, but active sperm donors can father hundreds of kids.

I just wrote an epic post explaining why not and lost it.:mad:

    The simpler answer is no.

We have two freezers in use, one of which is a huge chest freezer stacked like a Rubix cube. Who wants to unpack that every time one compiles a shopping list, for example. No good for the freezer or the contents.

I can imagine there would be nasty cases where the siblings don't know but nasty nasty other relatives enjoy knowing, and possibly enjoy manipulating. Some people are far more discussing than many are prepared to think. ( note, I am not unbiased in this area, there is history of abuse in my family and how people behave revolts me)

An alternative, if you feel like faffing about + time, would be to get images of the stuff in the freezer - lay them out in a grid in Word, then print them off onto magnetic paper and cut them out. Then as you put stuff in, stick the magnet on the door - and as you take it out toss the magnet onto the side or into a pot.

I don't mean "get a photo of your chicken casserole", but get any image of a chicken casserole off the internet that instantly says to you "this is a chicken casserole". Branded items can be lifted from mysupermarket.

I think my way is easier tbh. :). I can scribble amounts, or mark tallies

    Salmon fillets llll

Then rub the 'l' off as I use them or add some if more get bought.

I have another little black board in the kitchen on which to write things that need to be bought. Everyone is meant to contribute to that ( this is where the system breaks down some what....RP cannot stand to wait so just rushes out to buy stuff) But then I photo the list and add it to my shopping list for week / however long ahead and everything should be covered. :)

I've only just out about the 'Earthquake' here in Kent. Well I didn't feel it, although I had been in London for a few beers last night!

To make this week even weirder, there was a Murder just down the road from me on Tuesday

Just £5 will buy a back of B&H Silver and a lighter, to calm the nerves of those affected ;)

Ouch! There was one at the bottom of my road several years ago, in circumstances still unknown....
