Just realised, it's in Vienna. I'll be there for a few days later this year... looks like I should stay a coupe of extra days and sightsee...

This is a warning. Ooodles of my in laws are summering in Vienna this year, some are staying longer than summer. Watch out

... whereas I am going nowhere - and had to Google to see which country that was in .... then Google to see where that is :)

I've never had to wonder where Austria is before .... I just knew it was "out there somewhere"

Given a blank map and a pen I'd have guessed it to be where Switzerland is, or the bottom half of Germany.

As viva says that's exactly the right neck of the woods.

If you ever visit Austria, I'd ignore Vienna and go to Salzburg. That'll show you what an Austrian city should look like.
But if you like history, it'd be interesting to see Vienna, which punches above its weight in history books.

At one point (1913) you could walk down the street and you'd be likely to bump into Hitler, Stalin, Trotsky, Tito or Freud.

Or, later on and more interesting to me, a whole lot of philosophers of Science that I studied in my Masters.

Morning all. Did the earth move for you overnight?

Not sure if we have Kentish or S Essex NPs, but there was an earthquake overnight.

CK, can you get some oil of cloves for relief? Can you call your dentist at home and ask if they have a system for international referral?
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Cloves relieve earthquakes? You live and learn.

That'll teach me not to be lazy and not answer two posts in one. Morning Gen. Is it a bank holiday weekend there too? We're finally due good weather for this one.

Apparently it was felt here....but I slept through the whole thing.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

We only have one Bank Holiday a year in Aus. It's a day when the banks and asset managers get a holiday but for everyone else it's a normal work day (seriously!). It's my favourite day.

A couple of years back an Irish mate of mine went out for lunch with some pals on a Sunday. He encouraged them to have another couple of bottles of wine after lunch and then went down to the pub for a few beers.

Before anyone knew it, it was 11pm and there were going to be some very sore heads the next day. It was at that point he explained that there was one small part of the economy that didn't work the first Monday in August.:rotfl:

But no, no long weekend for me this weekend. The Queen's Birthday is the next Public Holiday here. 8th June so not so far off. I've still not taken any vacation this year either so I've got a nice little stash of holiday building up.:j

Il pleut comme la vache pis today but we've got a nice weekend forecast: 18-19 and sunny with very little wind. I plan to do this on Sunday:

    https://www.google.com.au/maps/dir/-33.7495076,150.6124687/-33.6391165,150.2841575/98+Great+Western+Hwy,+Blaxland+NSW+2774/@-33.6939386,150.2976448,11z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m10!4m9!1m0!1m0!1m5!1m1!1s0x6b12886e926e3db1:0xbf8beadc0853a2ae!2m2!1d150.6123!2d-33.749122!3e1

50kms uphill and then 50kms back downhill. Perfect.

Not sure what I'll do on Saturday. Maybe a swim...? It's the penultimate weekend of opening for the 'summer' for a lot of the outdoor pools. Might just take the family to the beach.

On my ipad, that link just opens up a Google map of my home. Somehow I don't think that you'll be cycling here from oz, although you will be most welcome if you do.

I don't think I'd have the patience to cycle uphill for 50 clicks, even with the reward of coasting home again. So, well done you for even thinking of it.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Ah okay, it's from Blaxland NSW to Blackheath NSW and back again.

In terms of getting it done, I just put on a podcast and get my head down and spin the pedals. You soon get a nice rhythm going.
