It's been on TV over here for years. I suspect it's a bit of a gay niche (stereotyping horribly sorry) TBH. It's being trailed pretty hard and it's all over the buses.
I think if the Aussie entry gets into the finals and is seen to be in with a shout of winning it could be big. Aussies crave international recognition.
No worries... as you know, it's got a big gay niche following here too, so not really a surprise.
Australia is consistently running about fourth in the betting odds at the moment. Conchita Wurst was similarly placed last year, so you could be in for a happy surprise (if it's your bag that is!). It's behind Russia, Sweden and Italy.
It will be great if Australia gets 12 from the UK and Ireland, plus possibly Malta which tends to choose songs with a more British/American flavour, maybe Greece and Italy due to the diaspora. Could be a shock on the night.
Guy automatically got a pass to the finals as Australia is an invited guest. So he's already half way there. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? In that case it'll be on the news tomorrow night and people will stay up to watch or at least PVR it. If he wins he'll be a national hero until Monday.0 -

Said it a few times but we have countryside and seaside in one place plus a small amount of normal seaside stuff for families.
For example for walking, our prom - 3 miles (could be four), lovely views especially at the posher end which has Edwardian gardens to enjoy. Alongside the prom, is less formal than the posher end gardens where you can sit and enjoy the weather.
We also have the ferry end (there is actually a ferry there), you can walk all along the sea front from the docks right down to there (hell of a walk but enjoyable) where there is a lovely pub, gorgeous fresh seafood 'kiosk' and a couple of cafes (breakfasts are lovely) plus if the mood takes you, you can take a trip around the river or across it to Bawdsey.
If you don't want sea walks, there is also plenty of countryside to ramble along and a very quaint town centre.
Much to the younger members of the town's dismay, it is not as racey, or noisey, (or dirty), as Yarmouth, Southend etc.
I know it is further down in Suffolk but we are actually only an hour and 20 minutes from Yarmouth and so so much better. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Shall we start a "Name 10 famous Belarussians" quiz ?
I googled "famous Belarusians". Even armed with a list of 'famous' people I'd only heard of two... Marc Chagall and Olga Korbut.
I'm much better on famous Georgians. I can name three off the top of my head... Stalin, Katie Melua and CK.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I googled famous Georgians and I knew Katie Melua, Stalin, Shevardnadze the politician and Kinkladze the footballer. CK somehow is not listed. :question:0 -

Shame it's a one-off. We could be the Greece and Cyprus of future years. Heaven knows we need douze points from somewhere. Especially this year.
I think I know our problem.
Somehow, you've got to cover all bases : do the punters want novelty ; male singers ; female singers ?
It's so hard to tell, but the following clip shows that people have tried to address this problem before
