...It's a Northern hell hole with a couple of football teams of modest size.

On holiday we were slightly embarrassed by the service staff at every turn. We would always try to engage in conversation, rather than their subservient talk.

One guy was totally unbelieving that the total population of St Lucia wouldn't fill Wembley stadium twice over. He couldn't imagine that number of people in one place.
We also tried (and failed) to explain traffic congestion. Their idea of traffic is finding a safe place to overtake one slow driver.

- contact one that's quoted £50 with disposal and ask him to do extra item for no cost, but then still worry that his quote would turn out to be "without disposal as he'd not spotted that and now suddenly wants the extra £30+ the council want from him to do it"

I thought the £50 quotes included taking the old one to the tip??

I love this silly name combining. I notice they don't try it with Bull Terrier and Shih-Tsu !

I've asked the 2nd one that quoted for that job if he can confirm he's got a license.

In the meantime, sellers of the sofa have phoned again, asking if I want some bedding to go with the free bed.... I said "yes". Posh house it won't be tat (hopefully) .... and can always be resold (to recoup costs), or taken to the animal shelter if it is tat.

Isn't there a friend with a double cab or van who can help? It's a shame you're the other end of the country. It might have gone in mine.

Sounds a bit of a result Pastures. You're dealing with a nice genuine person and as you're not at an auction nobody is going to outbid you.

:rotfl: She is gorgeous though. I want to scoop her up and cuddle her. And I say that as someone who prefers cats

My neighbour has one* that's a cross between a Jack Russell and a Shih-Tsu, and she's very cuddlesome too.

PN I hope you get the sofa and bed sorted, I can see it's all got you in a bit of a flap. Sending you a strictly non-tactile cyberhug.

ETA Now seen your more recent post PN - so pleased it's sorted, and you certainly got some bargains :j
