Lottie is absolutely gorgeous!
She's a tactical genius.
Last week, she knocked over my full cup of tea during dinner.
Whilst I am cleaning that up she is helping herself to my plate of food which I put down on the floor (foolishly).
I didn't realise this, and my kind family didn't bother to tell me - they were too busy laughing as I consumed the meal!
Thanks loved ones, thanks a bunch0 -

I like some of the entertainment value, just not the effort/responsibility.... and poop... EWWW.
A friend bought that Sony Robot dog a few years ago. It was a lot of money.
When I walked in it lifted it's head and took my picture.
Gee thanks. Robot dog spies..
I'll skip robodog0 -

Manchester?
I'm not surprised
...It's a Northern hell hole with a couple of football teams of modest size.
On holiday we were slightly embarrassed by the service staff at every turn. We would always try to engage in conversation, rather than their subservient talk.
One guy was totally unbelieving that the total population of St Lucia wouldn't fill Wembley stadium twice over. He couldn't imagine that number of people in one place.
We also tried (and failed) to explain traffic congestion. Their idea of traffic is finding a safe place to overtake one slow driver.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. PasturesNew wrote: »Then it all started to get complicated.....
Phone rang - it was the woman, somebody else is interested so do I want it or not? Yes.
Then the phone rang half an hour later, they've got a bed (free) if I want it.
So now things are changing too much and too fast really .... so I picked a random £50 quote and said if he'd also take the bed in the price then I'd book him.
Tired of this faffing about and changes really. I really need to just get this all brought to an end. Of course this will leave me with the spare sofa here to dispose of, but I think that'll turn out OK ....
Choices were:
- turn down the chance of a bed from a good home
- pick one that'd do disposal at £50
- contact one that's quoted £50 without disposal and ask them to do the extra item for no extra cost
- contact one that's quoted £50 with disposal and ask him to do extra item for no cost, but then still worry that his quote would turn out to be "without disposal as he'd not spotted that and now suddenly wants the extra £30+ the council want from him to do it"
I thought the £50 quotes included taking the old one to the tip??Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

PasturesNew wrote: »And the saga continues. Man who quoted me £50 for first job, inc disposal, when responded to asking if he'd do the bed in the price replied he's not got a license for disposal. So he'd clearly not read my original posting at all. He's off the list!
I've asked the 2nd one that quoted for that job if he can confirm he's got a license.
In the meantime, sellers of the sofa have phoned again, asking if I want some bedding to go with the free bed.... I said "yes". Posh house it won't be tat (hopefully) .... and can always be resold (to recoup costs), or taken to the animal shelter if it is tat.
Isn't there a friend with a double cab or van who can help? It's a shame you're the other end of the country. It might have gone in mine.0 -
Sounds a bit of a result Pastures. You're dealing with a nice genuine person and as you're not at an auction nobody is going to outbid you. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Cavapoo.
...which when I was young had a couple of very specific names :
a) mongrel
b) Heinz 57
Oh, and a mongrel didn't cost a grand in those days!
I love this silly name combining. I notice they don't try it with Bull Terrier and Shih-Tsu !
:rotfl: She is gorgeous though. I want to scoop her up and cuddle her. And I say that as someone who prefers cats
My neighbour has one* that's a cross between a Jack Russell and a Shih-Tsu, and she's very cuddlesome too.
PN I hope you get the sofa and bed sorted, I can see it's all got you in a bit of a flap. Sending you a strictly non-tactile cyberhug.
ETA Now seen your more recent post PN - so pleased it's sorted, and you certainly got some bargains :j
* Not a cat, obviously:D
