Did Brussels - Calais - Eurotunnel - Folkestone - Wheezytown in under 5 hours yesterday. :)

    Happy Birthday Nikkster!

London to Seaside on Friday afternoon before Bank Holiday took over 4 hours. Return journey Tuesday evening took 2.75. The BIWs ** were out in force on Friday.

** When MIL was still driving, there were two sorts of other drivers. Those in front were buggahs in the way (BIW), and those behind were buggahs chasing her.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I would open back up the transom light.

Do you have locks yet? I quite fancy the idea of having the sort of proximity locks like they have on cars these days so you don't have to muck about with the key - does anyone have these?

I had the electrician come today who was recommended, slightly awkward moment when he asked who is was who had recommended him as GDB did not seem like a suitable reply. Turns out he lived on the next road when he was growing up.

How did it go with the electrician? He's not cheap, I'm afraid.

You don't need to pick them in a busy urban area with distracted motorist. Just crouch by offside passenger door and lift handle as driver gets out. :o

Edit: my key for RP's car ( proximity lock) has started to play up. You'd think it might be as simple as changing the batteries but, nope.

One of the reasons I can be relaxed at times is because I know the options reasonably available are not that secure anyway. The times I am not relaxed are because I know I can make decent preventative.

One of the reason we had big dog type of dogs from when I was tiny is because they cannot be flushed down loos or put in freezers. Which even a German Shepard or Doberman can be, with most chest freezers.

Now most serious burglars to country homes come prepped in other ways for dogs it seems a non issue.

I guess his wanting to know who referred him was to help him sight what price level he should pitch at. Perhaps I should get a second quote.

The one time there was a knock on the door in the middle of the not here (it was drunk students) I grabbed the nearest thing to hand... A rather substantial hardback textbook. It might have difused any trouble by making them laugh or sparking some intellectual debate about the finer points of whatever, I guess.

    That wouldn't occur to me!

I'd ask where people found us so I would know what marketing had worked or which of my customers was working on my behalf so I could say thank you!

Best to take a phone with the emergency number dialled in missing the last did bit so you only have two buttons to press. In a real situation most of us are more likelY to find anything taken as a weapon against those more determined or more violent than us, is likely to be wrenched from us and used upon us. Here endeth the public warning message for today.
