When I see the TV I am amazed by the stoic resilience that the Nepalis are showing. It's a good test of what people think of the aid budget when somewhere like Nepal has problems. Nepalis have stood by us for years and it's our turn to give back. Hearing that people are trying to scam people out of money off the back of that is sickening.
I generally give to disaster relief through our local supermarket. I can't claim the donation back against tax but it goes through the audit process and they would be destroyed in the press if it was discovered that they were skimming a penny of it.0 -
I would pity the theif who spent the time going through all our stuff before discovering that we have nothing of value....
I reckon anyone coming in here would be aghast at the clutter and mess and then spend all the time tripping over animals. We mainly have lots and lots of dog beds and odd curtains it seems to me.
I gave an arm load of plain white curtains to a friend who has just completed on a cottage and wondered why I never got round to handing them here. :rotfl:0 -
Did you lot have the story about the unexplained irregular spike in microwave radiation that was being picked up by a radio telescope over here?
It was assumed to be a previously undiscovered phenomenon.0 -

Apparently it may not be black holes or neutron stars after all....
According to Douglas Adams the 'missing matter' turns out to be all the packaging that comes arround the very expensive kit that scientists have bought inorder to search for it....I think....0 -
Here is ridiculous for anyone who knows me. I have spent half an hour curling my hair with a curling wand.0

Not wanting to start a political discussion on the NPT, but...are all the nice peeps voting tomorrow?
I'll probably go, although I can't vote for the parliamentary one, so just for the council.
Not only will I be voting on a silly number of ballot papers, I'll be helping to count term tomorrow night. Should be interesting even if not a thrill a minute.0 -

Still a bit bored at home. It's raining (Manchester), and since my friends are all at work I feel a bit stuck. Wanted to go for a walk or something but I'd get soaked!“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
Oops, thanks Mas
