Well the WM is on, I'm dressed and I'm just going to go upstairs with a bin bag. It's still misty here but I'm hoping the sun will be out when it clears so I think the dog can go for a walk in a bit.

Bossy - is it tomorrow you go? Have a wonderful time!

DR table is now clear - that was a job and a half - I managed to keep it clear for quite a few weeks after Christmas but then it started getting cluttered again. It's because the DR is the first room you come to when you come into the house as the previous occupants bricked up the door into the LR from the hall so to get to the LR you have to walk through the hall, DR and kitchen. There's no chance of hiding anything away in this house - everyone sees the mess! There's still loads of stuff on the DR floor though that needs clearing.

Any ideas for shoe storage? There's a shoe rack in the conservatory but because the conservatory is so cold all through the winter DH leaves his shoes in the DR, under the table if the leaves are up so they are out of the way but I'm thinking if the leaves are kept down when not in use then the table won't get used as a dumping area. I'm thinking if I just say put them along the wall by the radiator the kids will continue to dump their coats, bags, PE kits there as soon as they come in through the door instead of taking them upstairs like they're supposed to.

Anyway enough of my rambling, the WM has finished but the fog hasn't lifted yet so I'll hold on before I put it on the line. I'll do another HHC in the DR I think and then I'd better take the dog out.

I want the tiles neutral because while the kitchen has been blue for 9 years that doesn't necessarily follow it will be forever! so.. I'm going grey and black intermingled with a LOT of white or cream.. I cannot decide.. is cream too non-neutral? What if I paint it all magnolia!? (Like never!!)

Nowt wrong with magnolia. My whole house is painted throughout with it. Ok my house lacks imagination but at least its clean.:rotfl:

Mine is 'Barley' for the most part .. posh magnolia lol.. but the kitchen is blue.

Lynne.. that is what I was thinking about with the tiles.. white ones have a public toilet look about them.. but cream is so hard to match unless it is completely the same.. I'm a geek, I've been doing this for the last 9 years.. in my tile-less kitchen!
