I feel uneasy even if the kids come in because I need to decorate. Just feel really self conscious plus my kids r not tidy at all.

I need to decorate my living room. I had family round yesterday and they all agreed I'd gone for the 'shabby chic' look - I stripped the walls (and not very well, actually, I still need to do round the wall lights) in OCTOBER! I haven't found a paper that I like which will suit the room - though I have found some - but it just won't be right. So, as Piggers says, worry not...

and we're now on 'no bare feet' regime - I just dropped a glass in the kitchen. On the plus side at least I hadn't washed it! I have swept AND vacuumed but I bet I missed some.

Got another bag of paper sorted. Found some v. v. important paperwork in it which has now been safely filed. Including the MOT certificate

Replacement remote control has now been ordered as the one which has been missing for about 3 years still hasn't turned up. (DD's dvd player). Had an Amazon certificate as a CC reward so it was 'free' WOOT

Miniature rose (Easter gift) brought in (forgot yesterday!) but it fits into a pot holder I already have which I was using as a pen pot in the kitchen. (Is v. glad about this!) I have SEVEN green biros (note to self take them back into work). Two labels printed for larder jars.

People come to see YOU not your house!!!

Absolutely. And who says it's "good" to be tidy and "bad" if your house is different from theirs? - it's your house. You might have a more interesting/busy/hedonistic life than they do!

We spent most of the morning gardening, with a couple of breaks as it seemed to turn into a bikers' cafe, 2 friends separately dropping in. Not to be outdone, we took the bike out this afternoon. Must say some of the country roads were a bit "rustic" with mud....We also dropped in to look at a couple more makes of car as part of our quest. We need a new car, and new windows for the house. Neither are urgent but both likely to be needed within the next few years. Neither are very interesting and both are lots of money which would be better (or should that be more enjoyably) spent on holidays, plants and chocolate!! A couple of cars ago, I was sitting in a showroom and the salesman mentioned that I didn't look very enthusiastic. I said that if my car hadn't blown up then I wouldn't be here; and it was about as exciting as choosing a washing machine! He was speechless. Maybe I'm passingly interested just for the few weeks before I choose one, but I don't seem to have the same priorities as car manufacturers. I went to one place last week, asked if they had one with a sun roof (I like fresh air) and the salesman looked completely baffled and said "but they all have air conditioning".

Anyway, still don't know where the money will go first. Car means getting rid of my ideal but old one (which is no longer made); windows means a whole load of mess and possible redecorating. Ugh.

Came home and did more in the garden, cooked dinner and slobbed out in front of TV. Did some exercises during the adverts but ate half an Easter egg during the programmes :rotfl:

Had an early lunch and then went to vol NT job. We had nearly 700 people through the house in just 4 hours (I counted them all out!) and an estimated 2,500 on the estate; it was almost mayhem at times, but we coped and everyone said they were having a very good day :)

Collected DH from the railway, came home, cooked our meal and sat down to watch TV for the evening. Promptly conked out and slept for almost 2 hours  DH did the same

I had booked a hair appointment for tomorrow. It hardly seems worth it - it's still very short - but I will just ask for a quick trim. I also need to know what the damage is at SW. Then I plan on working in the garden all afternoon: I need to weed the borders, move a few plants round and fill the space where we uprooted the laurel bush. I also have strawberry plants and chard seedlings to pot up. If time, I'll mow the lawn again on a lower setting too.

Valli, that was quick thinking about the sun melting the chocolate :rotfl:

I'm going grey and black intermingled with a LOT of white or cream.. I cannot decide.. is cream too non-neutral?
Being you are putting it with grey and black I think a warm cream would be good, steering away from the colder cream colours.

I'm starting to get fed-up now of watching the dust settle :rotfl:

Have spent at least four hours going through all my files and folders on my e-mail account and 'weeded' them all drastically, then did the same with the downloads etc. Feel quite pleased with that, although I didn't realise how much garbage I had accumulated

The next step is to download all my pictures from my phone, sort them out/delete as necessary/put in folders and then save them onto a USB and back up to my Seagate drive. Then I'm going to do the same with all my CDs.

My daffodils are absolutely gorgeous in the balcony boxes, haven't even begun to go over yet, and I'm so pleased I set them now. There was even a couple of bees about them earlier in the afternoon when the sun was out. There are still quite a few left to come out as well and some of them smell wonderful.

Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday

Where did the day go. Have been busy but it doesn't seem to show, house is still a mess, garden a bit improved, decorating odd jobs still outstanding.

DH has put the carpet back down on the landing. DS2 and I tried moving furniture around but my dining room is just the wrong size for a decent table - this is because it has a door to the hall and one to the kitchen diagonally opposite each other. Feel a bit down, I so want a table that more than 4 people can sit at without a squash.

GP appointment booked for next week to get my bloods redone. Feeling tired and down a lot again so wonder if my B12/iron have plummeted.

Up late as I got caught on the ancestry website! Must go to bed now will be dead in the morning.

    Morning all

Well the kids will be back this afternoon for a couple of hours before they go to my mum and dad's for tea. I'm hoping to get quite a bit done this morning before they come back although I need to go to the doctor's, drop a prescription off and pick up a sample bottle.

Not sure where I'm going to start but probably the DR, WM and fill a bin bag with rubbish.

    Have a good day all

    Morning Jue x

I woke before 5 and can't get back to sleep - lol bliddy bird chirping haha

Still, probs a good thing, I'll get an early night tonight.

So I've had a brew and planned my day. Little moos still in bed (amazing for youngest!)

I will get them off to club, visit Mr A for some supplies then bring the case down and crack on. I figure if I pack first rather than housework, I'll be less stressed. Hand luggage might be first though, must get the kids swimmies and shorts in theirs so we can go for lunch and a dip before unpacking (we'll arrive midday-ish)

Ooh, need to strip DS bed - just did at the weekend but there is a bit of blood (err I didn't pick my nose, mummy ;)) - I'll do mine too, and get them washed and out on the line.

Just realised I forgot to bring yesterday's washing in. It'll be all spidery

    B*gger!

    Love this!

Morning everyone, so our weekend away is over and its back to work. Not looking forward to it. Lots of stuff to do on job no. 2 later as well.

But it looks like it is going to be another nice day.

Oooh Bossy so exciting, but I hate that bit before you go away when you are packing and trying to sort the house out. Try not to get stressed!

    Have a good day everyone.
