  • You put in the amount your willing to pay and if it goes over that you wouldnt have got it anyway? thats almost special needs stupid. if theres a target people will bid up to and over it, if you bid early you only cost yourself money. with a few technical exceptions (which would require a lot of auction site experience to understand) any bid sooner than 8 seconds to go is criminally stupid.
  • On the recommendation of ME, I duly downloaded Goofbay AND then downloaded JustSnipe It auction sniping tool. The sniping tool works very well but along with just snipe I get media/fastclick pop ups! This in spite of having a pop up blocker!!!

Like I said, the sniping tool works and has won me a couple of auctions in the last week!

Hey, I'm the developer of Goofbay and Scrimpy and there is nothing to download to use our sniper? We also don't have any ad/popups anywhere.

I say this just to make sure that you are using the right site.

    Cheers Matt

I find sniper tools to be pretty pointless. I know how much I'm willing to pay for a certain item, I bid that amount from the start, and if I'm outbid, it doesn't bother me because I wouldn't have gone higher anyway.

I wonder though, what happens if you're bidding against someone who's also using a sniper, and you both set the same amount for the bid?

Good for you, now go back to your colouring in and let the grown ups talk.

  • I use bidnip - you only pay for successful snipes and it has never failed to place my bid for me.

I have it set to 3 seconds before the end of an auction so it is highly unlikely that a manual bidder will have time to refresh and rebid. I don't have time to spend much time following auctions so it's great just to place a bid and forget about having to be on line to bid manually.

I can't understand why anyone would be paying to snipe any more
  • Hello,

Just passing along a new eBay sniping site called http://www.snipegoods.com. It's free and no strings attached. Even if you don't snipe you can check out the final hour auction deals happening on eBay for clothing, sporting goods, gadgets, etc. Thanks.

I'm his fiancee (the one who does the buying).
I rarely snipe, and always manually, and yet I have a over 90% win percentage.
I see !!!!!! all difference in the price I end up paying, it just adds extra stress and boredom if I do sit there with the F5 button.
The truth is that if you sniped at £15 and I went to £20 you'd lose, whether I placed the bid 2 seconds before the end or two days. :p

Sniping makes ebay a horrible place to be, it's a pain in the bum and I adore the sellers who end their listings a minute early. :D

We don't do that though, we can't afford to lose the extra money, but I wish we could. ;)
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p
