Anyone use an eBay sniping tool?

Have had a look around but cant find any posts re sniping software/program/service.

Does anyone use them?

I have looked at EZ sniper (https://www.ezsniper.com), but what put me off is obviously any service is going to need ebay username and password details. The EZ sniper page is https, but I am still uneasy.

Any thoughts gladly received.

many thanks

Have a look at powersnipe, not the cheapest but excellent. 1Year = $45.99.

You don't want one that needs you to be online in general they are much slower.

    Wouldn't be without it!!

I've been using Ezsniper for the last year or so. Seems fine, I've still got 2/3 of my free snipes as I've only won one item through it. I find it useful for when the auction ends at an awkward time or when trying it on at a low bid.

However, once it sniped 4 minutes early
  • I've been using esnipe.com for years and years. They need your username and password, but it's all very reliable. I highly recommend them.

All snipers need your ID and password... otherwise how could they bid on your behalf?

I've been using ezsniper for about 3 years. It's saved me literally thousands of pounds (on about 50 or so purchases, so not that many!) and costs next to nothing to use. You don't have to pay them anything if you don't win the item!!! I've never had any problems at all - very happy customer.

I use phantombidder. There is a gadget you can download that sits on your mozilla firefox browser if you use it so you can set a bid instantly if your on ebay.

Its free to try for 3 shots, and then you have to pay but the price are good.

I have had great sucess with this and I find it easy to use, reliable and only charges you for a succesfull bid. (most are the same)

Yep - same here - I've used esnipe for a couple of years and had no problems - other than not setting a high enough limit! :rotfl:

http://www.auction-sentry.com/ is generally recognised as one of the best, and has recently won an industry award Source

Goofbay offers a free sniper, but judging by the forum it's not the most reliable.

From personal experience, I have never had a problem with http://www.snipestation.com/ - it's free, easy to use, pretty accurate with good useability. And its Free. Which is always a bonus, but normally Free things do not perform that well, or have limits, but this works very well for the money!

  • My prefered sniping tool is http://auctionsniper.com/

Fees are low and you can "top up" via Paypal. You can also setup bid groups to bid on a group of the same item until you win one. I think you can try out the service with 3 free snipes.

One of the best things about a sniping tool is that you can place your sniping bid and "retract" it at any time simply by cancelling the snipe before the auction ends, useful for when you change your mind.

  • I love auctionsniper! Its dead easy to use and as already said you get free introductory snipes :)
