its nothing to do with £65, or £6500 either

the small claims court system is 6 years in england and wales , 5 years in scotland, and has been those figures for many years

this is for one person or company to take another person or company to court , for an outstanding invoice, bill or debt

it could be npower chasing you up over an unpaid energy bill, or vodafone over an unpaid mobile phone bill, not just about parking

its actually nothing to do with parking , its the court system, which these firms are exploiting to the max
  • Oh right so does that mean they have 6 years to collect the claim themselves or they are unable to take you to court? Or do I have that wrong?

Also I have tried using Google to find out more about the SCC processes but I cant find anything which appears relevant as it seems to come back with lots of things about Stress Corrosion Cracking. If someone could let me know what the acronym means I can have a look for the proper title.

Search also for MCOL ... Money Claim Online. That's the method usually used to file small claims, and any court papers would come from either Northampton County Court or the Salford clearing centre. (That does NOT mean all claims are heard there, just where they originate).
  • Thanks I will do. So what is the difference between court papers and going to court?

Isn't that obvious? Papers let you know there's a claim against you; going to court is the hearing to defend that claim.
  • Thanks so basically if you get court papers your going to court to defend your case?

    maybe , maybe not
  • If you got court papers why would you not go to court? Also what happens if they continue sending letters after 6 years?
  • After 6 years, the debt is cancelled by default.
