Indeed.Rossendales are bailiffs but Rossendales Collect are the non-bailiff arm of the company. Just debt collectors.
However, Rossendales have been in the habit of employing a generic letterhead that makes it clear that they are also bailiffs. Far be it for me to suggest that this was due to anything other than one of the shaved chimps in the print room loading the wrong paper into the printer but it has the smack of someone deliberately trailing their coattails.
That said, it has been a regularly discussed issue here and that chimp has been loading that wrong paper for a long time - or at least on a regular basis. The fact that this chronic problem actually serves a debt collector's purpose by inducing additional anxiety is, of course, entirely coincidental. Apparently.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).

An update for you all.
Is it normal for the company to phone you? My parents had a call from someone and they passed on a message for me to call them back. As I didn't recognize the number I goggled it only to find its Rosendales collect. How do I proceed as they have the wrong number and will I presume continue to harass my parents.
Where do I go from here? Looking back at the letter they have the wrong address as well as they sent the letter to my parents as well my dad posted it through my letter box I have only just noticed this.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

This is harrassment.
They shouldnt be phoning at all, let alone using your parent's details.......I suspect Freddy and others will be pleased to tell you what comes next:-)CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

You can either keep ignoring them or write to Rossendales Collect telling them the debt is disputed and that Excel will have to take you to court because no payment is forthcoming.What will your verse be?

It's hardly harassment if the OP has made no contact with the debt collector.What will your verse be?

Thank you for the replies. What if they keep ringing my parents as I don't know where they got the phone number from???0

tell your parents to report them to the police for harassment, as they are the phone bill payers, not you0

Police won't care and will say it's a civil matter (unless the parents receive constant phone calls despite telling Rossendales the OP doesn't live there).
Going to the police, as opposed to writing to Rossendales to tell them to sod off, is likely to: -
1. Waste the police's time;
2. Waste the OP's (or the OP's parents') time;
3. Achieve nothing.
Rossendales have reasonable cause to try to contact the OP at the moment, because they have no idea he's disputing the debt! Once they're aware of that fact, any more contact from them is on more sketchy ground but at the minute they're not really doing anything wrong.
The letter should state that any more contact from them in relation to pressuring the OP to pay the disputed debt will be deemed as harassment.What will your verse be?
