    Still no £25 explanation...

I assume that's the cost for a replacement v5 since the current one has been filled in by the garage and therefore the op needs a new blank one.

What post are you referring to...

I can understand that but remember I'm not mentioning the chain, part of country or brand here.... I initially posted just to see what the actual state of affairs was (expecting to lose the deposit).

The bit I still don't get is why would anyone send off a V5 before everything is done and dusted..

The poster on here never mentioned the name of the garage I worked at or the car, but the background to the story was the similar to what happened the day before, so I prized a little bit of info out of them, tongue in cheek and said "Oh I bet it was a navy blue BMW 530d...". Knowing full well it was :)

This £25 then, could you explain? Becasue thats the fee for a replcement when lost/stolen.. Not for when its been filled in wrong.

It must be something his "Lawyer" told him he would have to pay

    2) why are the garage (having lost a small amount of money) willing to return the deposit without a fight..

Because they wanted to wash their hands of any link with you ASAP.

Dealers of all sizes want good customers, not troublesome demanding ones. They've seen you're high maintenance and broken all links as soon as they could in case you came back.

you would be correct if I didn't have boardroom access to the brand in question (we are currently redeveloping their CRM system).

Ah right "boardroom access"? You're the grunt they send in with the boxes to unpack for the new kit then? :rotfl:
