It's mid-month for us and we are struggling, I have no cash until child benefit comes in on Tuesday we have a little bit of food but not enough to last for 4 days so I will have to use the voucher I have for Sburys (£10) and the voucher I was going to use for dd bike as I can use in a frozen food store (£10) so doable but far from ideal.
DH sent me a depressing text this morning as he is fed up of working all week and we're still skint, I reminded him about what we've achieved and the one off payments that have all come at the same time i.e. dd piano lessons for the year, a final payment for her trip to France, and her birthday. Not great in the run up to Xmas.
It doesn't help that his mate came round the other day with one of two new boats and is currently away on holiday for his third trip of the year, pictures all over fb.
Anyway we can't blame anyone but ourselves so we just need to get on and get rid of it.
Lots of direct debits have gone out today so I have checked this off on YNAB, need to do a few surveys and continue with the never-ending housework and paperwork.
5 days until C/B, 14 days until payday, expenses to come somewhere in-between!

It's so hard at times isn't it chrysalis.
I think you just need to try and remember that each month you are getting closer to your debt free date.

Not sure, one of the Managers is on holiday until 19th and need to finalise details, I'm half hoping it can stretch to the New Year as then I can get 2 weeks paid over Xmas.

Hope DH picks up by the time he gets home Chrysalis, sounds my DH the other week when he was all down in the dumps about it! He will be ok tomorrow, they always are!
You can definitely do this with the vouchers you have. Its only 4 days worth of shopping you need so just buy for those days maybe? If you need any ideas let us know I'm sure we can up with some ways for you xxMummytogirls x0 -
Thanks mtg, yes will plan meals up to Monday night.
I went to the frozen food place yesterday to get a few bits, I will go to S'burys tomorrow for the rest. Kids are having school dinners today and next week so I can eek out that payment for a few days.
I currently have the following food in stock:
Frozen - 1 pizza sub, some chicken nuggets, 3 fishfingers, bag of chips, unopened bag of broccoli (there's a meal right there!).
Store cupboard - dried spaghetti, brown rice, lots of lasagne sheets, 1 tin beans, 1 tin chickpeas, small amount of couscous, lots of herbs and spices.
Other - 1/2 a cabbage, 3 shallots, lots of tomatoes from the garden, loaf of sliced bread.
Fridge - small pack of cheese, 1 full bottle milk, some cucumber, a few spring onions
I have made a lasagne already for tea tonight, just need to make the sauce so will use some of the milk and cheese.
Friday tea - Lasagne, cabbage (odd combination but it needs using)
Saturday lunch - Homemade tomato soup, dh can make some rolls as we have the flour/yeast.
Saturday tea -
Sunday lunch -
Sunday tea -
Monday lunch -
Monday tea - pizza sub/chicken nuggets/fishfingers, chips, broccoli
Arrgh can't think, will sort out with dh when he gets home.
Just checked status of expenses for main job and it's been rejected as I haven't taken in a new copy of my insurance, I have printed a copy now ready to take in when I'm in the office on Tuesday.
Nothing else moving at the minute, very boring!

Raided the small change jar and changed at the bank, plus cashed in two scratch cards that had been lying around so now have another £13 to go with the other voucher. I will use a little bit as Friday is always treat day for the kids so don't want to deny them that.
I did forget to ask for some more change bags at the bank as I might as well pay in the rest of the money, no good having it sitting around when every penny counts.
Lots of surveys completed today, slowly building up in each pot.

Hi Chrysalis,
Could you stretch to a joint of beef or turkey for Sunday? I always use the leftovers for hot beef sandwiches so you could have the freezer meal Saturday, beef or turkey Sunday and then hot beef/turkey in gravy Monday?
Yay to the extra £13 :T. You could also bake up a batch up cupcakes if you have those ingredients.
So basic shopping list:
beef/turkey
potatoes
veg
eggs
milk
Hope this helps xxMummytogirls x0 -

A busy day today, I went to sainsbugs with ds and we got a large chicken, potatoes, carrots and bread, milk. Then back home to Tesssco for a few items.
DH had gone for a bike ride with dd so we then went over to the library which is literally across the road from us, they were back when we got home. Bank wasn't open this morning so will have to get some more money bags on Monday.
DH made tomato soup for lunch which we had with bread and then made the bread rolls for tea. Load of washing done and hanging in the garden, need to use these dry days as long as possible.
Dd then had trampolining, this was paid for already so no expense there.
Had an email from Amaz*n to say a dvd I listed has been sold, need to keep my odd change to post that on Monday too.
Relaxing for the afternoon now, no surveys or anything else happening.
