  • How was today with the car Chrysalis? xx
    Mummytogirls x

  • Hi,

Well finally got the car back at 5pm this evenning as the garage had ordered the wrong part and had to reorder, they did reduce the price due to the long time they had the car for so paid £143 in the end. I have been on 3 train trips today to get to different appointments for work, I can claim the last trip back though so a few pounds back.

Also had to pay for two days childcare, this has been reduced from four days so saving half the cost each week and means I can pick the kids up from school on three days rather than just one althjough dh collected them today whilst I was on the train.

Work for second job is getting busier which is great as it means that I will hopefully work the 16 hours a week over the month.

No 1poll payment as yet, a couple of surveys and a Tilly Tidy.

Sitting down finally, early night in store.

  • Hi all,

Not much to report at all, being careful with the pennies as not much until cb comes in on Tuesday I should pay for the kids next set of swimming lessons tomorrow but it's £70 that I just don't have at the moment.

Had a lovely day of with dh yesterday, we went for a bike ride and then a swim in the sea on the way back it was a tad parky!

Today is mooching around the house, washing has been done, bathroom cleaned and scrubbed and making homemade tomato soup for lunch.

    Have a good weekend, C x

  • Blimey what a couple of weeks  Sister who is a nightmare, boss who is a nightmare and finances a nightmare.

So after all that and feeling really low and full of cold I have taken the bull by the horns and we are tackling this negativity head on.

    * Sister has been told exactly what I think of her mainly to stop blaming me for things that I didn't actually do and were over 20 years ago!

    * Actively seeking alternative employment, have something lined up just need to thrash out a few details.

    * Downloaded YNAB trial today and have started budgetting, I'm actually finding it really easy to use, a bit a wierd at the minute as I have already been paid and lots of bills have gone out so won't actually be completed until end of October. The bonus is that dh loves it too.

I will make these things work for us, I'm tired of living payday to payday, we don't have as much debt as a lot of people so we just need to get on and shift it. I especially want to get into a position to pay down our mortgage and get a better interest rate.

Onwards and upwards, on a good note both the kids are having extra Maths and English sessions as they have been recognised as being MAT (More Able and Talented) students.

    Hope all well, C x

Wow chrysalis. I wouldn't mess with you. When you go for it, you do it big time. I'm sure you will succeed in each area.

Sounds like you have a couple of clever kids. I'm sure they will go far.

  • Ha ha I'm lovely really just don't take any nonsense, life is far too short!

Nice day in my second job teaching athletics then food shopping after picking the kids up from school.

I'm addicted to YNAB already can't wait to update it, it does look rather shocking at the minute due to what is due to go out for the rest of the month and income not showing yet. I really hope that it will help us to plan and have our net worth increase over the months whilst paying down the debts.

Debts that are paid monthly are as follows with end dates (before any overpayments are made):

DH computer - official end date July 16
Bike - official end date July 16
Kids computer - not sure as dh did it but should get a statement in December so will have a clear idea then.
Car - official end date August 18!!!!!
    Mum - asap
    Overdraft - no set date.

So income to arrive in October, child benefit on 13th, my mileage expenses around the same time, my pay on 22nd. No birthdays this month but dd is on 8th November and wants a bmx and sell her current bike, I have £10 voucher towards this but obviously need to budget towards the rest.

    Hi Chrysalis,

My DDs birthday is 4th Nov and weve just got a great deal on her a mountain bike with gears and suspension, got £85 off it in H@lfords! They seem to have some good offers at the mo. Unfortunately for us her old bike is now very well used and probably wouldn't sell for more than a £5... we got a massive bargain on that 3 years ago... 99p on eb@y!! It was like brand new aswell ha!! xx

Yes we are looking at Halfords too mtg, it's £99 that I haven't yet added to YNAB because it's already mighty awful I must do that tomorrow. We saved on ds bike this year as my dh friend gave us his son's bmx for nothing, still a little big for him but won't be long until he can ride properly.

Not much happening today just checking banking, trying to clear my backlog of marking for work and sorting out dh annoying tax business.

I have booked time off over half term so can have a proper break, I can't wait then it will be full on up to Xmas and New Year hopefully I'll already be in the new job if nothing goes belly up with it.
