Right I think I have a plan - calling you need to give up your normal work to be a landscape gardener, then can you simultaneously do my garden and the only girl's garden - I'll trade you my lawn turf for your pebbles?!
Each year OH and I try to make improvements to our garden, spending £100 here and there. I think we need someone to come in and take it all back to bare soil and start again. Having said that, the dogs usually destroy our hard work so it's probably not worth it unless we concrete the whole lot and bring in pot plants in tubs tall enough so they can't eat the compost and plants out of them.
Today was SFD number 13 and LTWLooking forward fo payday tomorrow and some more debt busting

Me neither!
And me. I am hoping to be a better turtle next month.
Good morning all! My day off today but loads and loads to do. I wonder when I can have a day off in the real sense of the word?
I am waiting for someone to look at my garden and give me a quote. I hope it is not an earth shattering quote like the first one.
Hoping to enjoy most of the sunshine today and not be stuck indoors. Shall I do my mountain of ironing outside?"There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
Only girl I would leave ironing until it is raining !

Happy Friday everyone! Spent 30p today on parking at volunteering (rape crisis), so not a NSD but only missed out by a tiny amount! Yesterday was spend-free because I was at work all day, and at volunteering again all evening. Also excited to be taking delivery of my first online shop tonight - think I'll have to rearrange the cupboards before it comes.
Going away for the weekend to see friends (2hr drive), which should be cheap and cheerful. Hope everyone has a lovely weekendBought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free!

Hi All
SFD 10 here! Woo hoo, I may just make it to the 15!
I got £1 in tips today, & found 20p in the kids play area
I paid myself £200 across today, which is a start.
Tommorow I am going to buy 2 30 litre rear bike panniers & a bike rack which are £39 plus £12. The space this gives is supposed to be enough to carry your weekends clothing/camping stuff if you do bike touring, so it should provide a fair amount for me. If I still need more room, I will get front ones too. Failing that I may upgrade to a tank
Have checked all the banking today, no surprises, just counting down till OH gets paid next Thursday now to do some more debt slaying/emergency fund building. So steady as she goes turtles, its almost the end of April.
Must also remember to get my mums card in the post this weekend as her birthday is middle of next week.
Right, guess were Im off toinvolves bubbles.

calling - I'm joining you on the more activity and less eating
academiablues - what a great cause to volunteer for
bob - congratulations on being able to pay yourselfEvery time you mention bubbles or a bath, it makes me more determined to get debt free and save for a bathroom with a bath. Hope it was lovely
Today was a slight spendy day as we needed bread and milk. I also asked OH to get food for 'dinner' - he reckons he thought dinner was at lunchtime so bought himself lots of treats for lunch and didn't get anything for tonight! Men!
Tomorrow, I'm getting my hair done. This year I've started adding back in the treats that I'd like to have when I'm debt free. The theory being that a.) if I don't do it now, I might go crazy when I do have my whole wages available to spend, and b.) I am working really hard atm and feel I need a few treats to plan and look forward to. Hope this makes some sense to someone!LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Not as much as I'd hoped. Too many other things to do. Didn't even finish my ironing as had too many interruptions. Tomorrow is another day I suppose.

Too right, I must say. The way we have been saving and scrimping, we deserve a little treat every now and then. Something to pick us up from a long and hard struggle. Do enjoy your little treat."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
Last post and I'll hit the sack
I had another man/company check the garden today. I only asked for estimate on the fence, and what they gave me, it is so much better. Half of what the other guy quoted on Tuesday. I am still awaiting estimates from somebody and also waiting to hear if my hubby's colleague who does handy man jobs on the side could give us an estimate too.
I had Rag Bag over to collect my unwanted textiles and shoes and bags and they collected 35 kilos (would have been more if they haven't been rounding off the figures for each bag). The monetary equivalent will go to the church building fund. The cheque will be in the post later.
Went to the personnel department to submit my documents for the DBS check for my new job. On my way home I had wanted to go to Wilkos to pick up some compost but forgot to bring money with me (from the envelopes) and realised that my new atm from Santander had not been activated yet. So managed to sneak in an SFD, yeeeey!
I saw a penny coin on the ground whilst in the hospital but somebody was standing right next to it. And in my head I was thinking, that penny could go to my wombling/road kill pot, but I didn't want to look like a vulture scooping down on a penny. So with heaviness of my heart, I had to walk away from it. I need to get a life!!!! I am so jealous of Bobarella for being so lucky with roadkills.
academiablues :T on your volunteering and such a worthy cause too. When we work with the unfortunate cases of other people around us, it puts everything in our lives into perspective, doesn't it, especially on things we take for granted.
You might remember me mentioning about the broken dryer. It turns out my hubby couldn't live without it. It was giving him the shakes/withdrawals. So yesterday he rang the service hotline and was quoted £120 for the call out  or alternatively, they recommended a sort of cover for the dryer £14.49/month which include repair and maintenance and brand new one if can not be repaired. I had to put my feet down and told my hubby that that amount plus a bit more, would equate to a brand new one which will last hopefully at least 5 years. So from the contingency fund, he ordered a brand new one from B00ts appliance (didn't know they do appliances till yesterday), via Quidco which gave him 10% cash back, plus Advantage points as well. We've only just discovered the cash back system in Quidco and since joining we have gained a cash back of £45 and £4.60 for my hubby's and my account, respectively. Not bad at all! Can't wait till they will actually be credited to our bank account.
I can hear the sound of zzzzland beckoning me, so at this point I bid you all good night. I wish you all a relaxing weekend.
