    Evening all

I have to confess to having the speediest day of the month by a long way and I thought the Clarks expense was bad enough. apple mentioned only yesterday that when I have a spend day i really have one and no-one can keep up with me. Well she is right. But you know what... I am not even sorry today. Thanks to several circumstances combining at once I saw a really helpful Doctor and got a health check by a free machine at the surgery. I got the tablets I requested for my migraines but I also got a wealth of useful information about diets to combat them because they are very debilitating and when an attack comes on it lasts 2-3 days and doesn't properly go so I am left fuzzy, then comes on again, and again, and again. So between that advice and the horrific little print out from the machine, I am on a VERY different, very restrictive diet and I need to lose about 35lbs and hopefully some migraines along the way. But it cost me a weeks worth of shopping for myself on top of the shopping and stacked cupboards I already have. Turns out I eat in the exact wrong way for my brain. Sigh.

Bob yay for the bike. £84 isn't half bad. My mum and dad just paid more than that for a 3 year olds Raleigh :rotfl: more fool them.

Samiszel lovely to hear you are so enthusiastic and happy after the seminar. What a fab thing for work to put on!

mothernerd... glad you are sleeping a lot but please remember your rainbows and fresh air. Need to stave off the blues that can come with sleeping too much. Lots of gentle hugs. You are doing very well. I remember not long ago you couldn't get your food into or out of the oven... now look at you cleaning it ;)

Calling I have had a zoo membership but haven't used it since the weather turned cold because it relies on MIL & FIL feeling like going & driving us there as it is a bit out of the way even though it isn't really far as the crow flies. Least I didn't pay for it. £33 is good VFM :) xx

Hope you are all tucked up warm tonight. Wind is whistling through a gap in my window and I am trying to warm my sore and restless legs on the electric blanket.

Have a lovely nights sleep all. xx

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted for a few days. Have been reading along but have forgotten most of who has said what - sorry my head is full of the qualitative data that is informing my dissertation due in little over 2 weeks, so not much space for anything else! Anyway, sending hugs and get well wishes to anyone who needs them.

Things here have been plodding along. Treated ourselves to a take away to celebrate paying off the cc but things are back on track now. Am thinking about starting to shop more often. I currently do a weekly shop but find that people are pigging out on the few days after I do the shop then there is nothing left towards the end of the week. Plus we buy a lot of bread products which all need using within a few days. So am considering trying 2 smaller shops each week and seeing how it works. Any thoughts?

I think I had promised myself to start exercising, have more me time, and hammer out my assignments. Well, I started exercising yesterday with a 20 min run and have done a short walk this evening. Hoping to build this up. Me time hasn't really happened. Assignment - 2 are completed and will be handed in tomorrow, others are underway.

  • Morning everyone,

    Sorry for being awol again!!
Up to 7 sfd's now, had a terrible month budget wise, both mine amd dh's phones have broken, which was a spend i could have really done without. It seems to have been one of those months where you have to spend now to save later?! So annoying!!

Its pay day on fri, which is great, although I'm planning on a fresh start for May now after completely losing track.
Still here..... but working on that!

£10.28 on nuts today. Just nuts. :rotfl:

Am going to stand this afternoon and try and figure out a rota of food for work. Need to master breakfast in minutes before work on a very strict diet, then the snacks throughout the day as well as the lunch. Gong to be hard indeed but the results will be very worthwhile I am sure.

    Lots of love xx

Lilt, Nuts are expensive. I did a diet last summer, it sorted my IBS tummy out and I lost lots of weight, nuts featured highly in it. Lidl good for nuts. Perhaps I should try again because I am just craving sweet things at the moment. That cut out everything sweet and I didn't miss the sugar either. Going to review my eating habits this week. Just when I finish this coffee cake oops

Spendy day wanted some strawberries and raspberries. Bought some soda crystals at 65p going to try and see if they will clean my patio up. Will test on spare slab first.

Today is dragging looking forward to seeing my youngest daughter later haven't seen her for weeks.

Decided to go for the zoo pass will get my moneys worth out of it.

Bit chilly out of the sun was going to get the paddling pool out later for my grandson obviously but hey ho saves me blowing it up.

Work is dragging, roll on hometime

Thanks Calling. That was in Lidl!! :rotfl: - my diet is for migraines and thus is very high fat, very low carb and medium protein. Very restrictive at 20-30g net carbs a day and 15g of those from vegetables. My fridge is HEAVING with green leafy stuff. I'm not allowed fruit of any kind. I am allowed Stevia sweetener only in my drinks which is no great shakes as I made the change to sweetener ages ago when I couldn't kick sugar and prefer the stevia based stuff. But in order to kick the sugar cravings I have cut coffee/tea completely and am drinking green tea instead. I can deal with the no carb/sugar headache but not in conjunction with the lack of caffeine especially while at work. Apparently in 6 weeks I should really see it working and it will be much easier but for now I have just been tearing my hair out weighing lettuce and things. Lunches for the next 2 days are sorted, as are my snacks (boiled egg and some nuts) and I am a bit anxious about eating so *little* in terms of my daily work munching. I graze all of the time as I can't concentrate if I have no music which is totally not allowed so I end up eating.

Soda crystals are brilliant. I use them for everything!! MIL swears by using them for wiping down cupboards and things in the kitchen as it just clears the grease immediately when mixed with hot water and a splash of bleach. I throw them in with the washing to keep my detergent use lower and keep the machine clean and have had great results with that. I also pour them down my kitchen sink which has a habit of clearing slowly if even the slightest thing goes down the plughole thanks to a dodgy slant on the drainage pipe.

Off to pick up my munchkin and stop by the park on the way home if she isn't too tired. She is in a very contrary mood today so hope she hasn't made too many waves at nursery. Yesterday she coloured in those brand new Clarkies trainers in blue felt tip. I nearly cried but have got it out.

Have a good evening all xx

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All
Personal NSD no 7/15 so thats good.
I had some enormous news today. Long story short the complaint I have with the ombudsman regarding the misselling on my insurance policy has finally, after almost a year of hell, been upheld. The lying toads that have tried every move in the book have finally put on paper that they accept there were 'issues with the sales process, & the documentation I recieved'
All I have to do is sign the forms and post them back tommorow, & I will recieve the money I should have had months ago to help get my business back to its best.
I dont know how I feel to be honest. Obviously gobsmacked that its finally happened, but also Im angry. Angry that they can do this to me, angry that Im hardly likely to be the only one getting the same treatment, and for the months of stress that could simply have been avoided had someone done their jobs properly at the start. This is only half of the complaint resolved, but this part was the hardest part, so now the rest should be resolved a lot quicker.
I just wanted to tell you all as I know I've bent ears on the topic.

Lilt - I am so sorry you have to go through changing your entire diet, it must be awful. I cant imagine life with no caffine at all. Huge hugs.
Calling - Horray to the zoo pass, really hope you enjoy it and go often.
LittleSkintDragon - I feel the same this month. Really didnt want to spend £84 on a bike, but it saves me money every day, & until someone invents one of those time turner thingies from Harry Potter for real, its the only way I can get to school in time each day.
Welshkitty - You sound very busy, hope you get through it all in one piece.

    Night all.

    Bob

    Evening all,

bob - congratulations on your win against the insurance company and on getting a bike :)

lilt - hope the diet does the trick with your migraines, let us know how it goes :)

mothernerd - glad to have you back and posting :)

welcome back everyone who has been away for a few days :)

Today has been a busy day and I'm shattered again but I have done another tutoring session and have paid the money off my debt and I'm now under 5k :j :j :j :j

Also had a spendy day as I bought my lunch at work so lost a SFD and a LTW, but it was worth it :)

I have had a few piece of good news re. debt busting over the past few days. I have some extra work available to me. Some in the school holidays and some evening and weekend work. I think its going to leave me knackered as will need to work every working hour for a few weeks but (fingers crossed) it would guarantee I would be debt free this year. Think its definitely worth trying, I guess I could always say that I can't do some of them part way through if it really is too much.
