Spent £14 for a weekly bus ticket and was on the bus before 6am to get to the other house to put the bin out. Filled it two weeks ago but was then too tired/ stiff to go back and put it out on the right day. Brought two small pots of soil back in the little rucksack.

Put DS3's sheet and duvet cover in the machine (had stripped them and given him temporary covers to use until later in the week, before I went out) and found more for my bed.

Gathered lots for the bins here (only a few inches of space left), more clearing in the yard - I think the reason I slept all day yesterday Lilt was that on Sunday evening I went out and have now cleared fifteen 2' x 2' slabs and am gradually excavating the cobbles at the bottom all of which were covered in 1" - 2" soil. Also tackled the washing up mountain including the things that had bacon cooked in them. Have rinsed the two oven racks (still need a thorough wash) to get the nasty stuff off them.

I had plans for the rest of the day but it ended up being more reading and sleeping (the 6am start was a following a 2am bedtime and woke twice in between). DS3 said I should go to bed at 10pm (I complained about the skylight waking me at daybreak). I said I am the mum and he doesn't tell me when to go to bed (would help if he didn't move from bed to bed at intervals during the night and downstairs bed creaks every time he turns over - tried to sell him on the idea of doing the repair it needs bur no dice).

Today I am grateful for buses, for my bed and for plentiful hot water (washing up was a joy and it isn't always).

    Seconded, Fmess! Well done!

Sorry for not keeping up with posting (again!) - lots going on but that's no excuse really, just the longer I go without posting the more there is to comment on, the more time it will take, etc..... Have been reading everyone's updates though.

So not brilliant with SFDs but have managed to get another two since posted last, budgets not fab but not dire either, will update budgets in sig later.

Glad my comments helped Stewby, and thanks for yours too Fmess. Think it was Synonymous, but apologies if I've got that wrong, thanks also for helpful comments about managing self-sabotage. Hope diet helps you, Lilt, sounds grim though! Glad to see you back Mothernerd. Sure I've left off lots of important things so sorry for anyone I've left off, but supposed to be ready for work now and still in dressing gown!

Oh remember Bob's posts, good luck with whatever you decide about shop - pop up option sounds great, and well done on getting a bike sorted x

Just a quick hello from me! It's great to see some positive news coming through as we were all getting battered about a bit over the last few weeks!

Lilt hope the new diet works, and I'll be interested to hear how you get on as I get migraines too. I saw a dietician as a teenager who said mine didn't seem to be food-related, but I imagine research has moved on a bit now. When I get one now I just immediately take Solpadine Max soluble (strongest soluble over the counter) and hope for the best. Triptans made my migraines repeat like yours, and beta-blockers and other daily medication ruined my quality of life with no obvious change in migraines! One of the best treatments for me is meditation, but mine are definitely stress-related.

Keep on keeping on mothernerd, we might be turtles, not tortoises, but slow and steady still winds the race! I too remember being heartbroken when your lasagne ended up on the floor at Christmas - think how far you've come in a few months.

Good work everyone still fighting their demons, I'll be running some procrastination workshops at uni soon - I will be Exhibit A and will probably learn something myself! :rotfl: I went on a meditation retreat with the theme of Beauty this weekend and am pretty chilled out now and seeing the world in a new light. One of the things we had to do was see beauty in ourselves and our qualities - I'd recommend it to anyone!

No idea on the budgets, but pretty sure they are going ok. Made a donation for the retreat at the weekend and bought a few bits but otherwise all good here I think. Hugs to all and hope you have sunshine where you are.

    Hi all

SFD today as not planning on leaking any money. Took 15 minutes out of my work schedule to go outside at the time of my Pop's funeral and have a chat to him from afar :) found a Euro in the place I was sitting which was not exactly a prominent spot! Think he is sending me a message to say he is sat in the South of France ;)

SO many people afflicted by migraines. Syn nothing other than the tablets I have been given again have ever worked for me, hence why this last migraine has been hanging around anf flaring for 2 weeks now, over and over! I still haven't taken a tablet to kill it off yet as frankly with the diet giving me a headache too which can't be gotten rid of other than drinking my body weight in water, I am not going to be able to resolve all headaches so why just tackle one! I will let you know how I get on with the diet. Very early days yet but something is working if I have the headache :)

Off to eat my lunch :) have a nice afternoon all xx

Afternoon all! So today and yesterday were SFDs, as I managed to eke out the last of the petrol in the car and worked from home today :) tomorrow I will HAVE to buy some petrol though! Spent yesterday evening (and will spend this evening) putting soil into raised beds, and repotting chillis and peppers and other assorted things. Very excited about the garden now it's starting to take shape! Lilt, hope the diet works for the migraines, they're horrible things. Fmess, well done to getting under 5k!
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine while it lasts!

Edit: Okay, so today was a spendy day after all! Took advantage of Morries' £12 off when you spend £60 for new shoppers, and stocked up the cupboards, which have been looking bare. Plus side, we will NEVER have to buy cereal or loo roll ever again! :D updated signature accordingly.

Today I am grateful for my sewing machine, for the smell of clothes dried outside, for 2x 5p roadkill, for seeds sprouting, for my book.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All
    NSD 8 here.
Good to read your update Caeraugirl & Synonomous.
Lilt - Thats a nice thought about your Pops.
Academia - Without wishing to sound ex smoker smug, I dont miss the days of running around on fumes in my car. Of which there were MANY. I ran out of fuel about 5 or 6 times in 2014, highly embarassing and really crap for being late, lack of control etc. I had a bit of a moment this afternoon as I struggled home on the bike with a huge backpack, little boys school gear etc, then thought no! Saw several £40,000 landrovers sitting bumper to bumper on the traffic infested south circular, and just thought, you know what, its an expensive moving box. I'll stick to my £84 bike. But that was supposed to sound sympathetic, not ner ner :)

Feeling it today, have a headache, nothing like you Lilt, just dehydrated I think. Its been slow at the shop this week, not terrible, just slow. So I am now wondering if tommorow & friday will be mental to make up for it, or just slow till the end of the week. The glorious weather has definately had an impact.
Paid my shop electricity bill in full, £313 ouchie. But still glad I can do so. Hopefully now between now and the end of the month I should be putting money into my own salary pot. If the gods allow :)

    Night everyone.
