Thank you all for the congratulations :) I feel like a woman on a mission at the moment, It sounds awful but it is the only thing I can think of and just want to power on through and get it gone ASAP.

Glad you took some time out to remember your pops lilt, the Euro must have been a sign!

Today has been SFD number 13 :) and LTW too :) Didn't have tutoring for the first time this week, which was nice, so came straight home and walked the dogs. I've also cleaned the lounge and prepped my tutoring for Friday :)

Hope you've all had a bit of sunshine today :)

  • Hi all, good evening. Late check in tonight, having just come from a late shift and going to force myself to sleep with a full stomach and a hyperactive brain because I am on an early start tomorrow. Unfair I know but we all have to do it sometimes.

Congratulations to the triumphant NST's, huge well done to all. To those who are not feeling so great and to those who are like me, feeling all sorts and out of track, hugs to all. We need to pull it back to get through the next 7 days or so, and hope for a better month in May. Life is full of ups and down, as they say it's not how many times you fall but how many times you pick yourself up and learn from it that counts.

At last I had a good SFD yesterday. It was my day off and managed to accomplish quite a bit. Finished the laundry and hang all the washing outside. We have been so lucky with the sunshine this week, it is so refreshing to see people wearing shorts and sandals. Our dryer broke the other day and in a way I am pleased. Strange you may think, but here's why. When my husband helps me with the laundry he automatically defaults to sticking the finished laundry in to the dryer no matter how hot and sunny it is outside. He uses his asthma/hay fever as an excuse. Now that it is broken we will have no choice but to use the line outside and save on the electric bills. We just need to be more organised and work hard a little bit harder to get on top of the laundry and drying up. I might be persuaded to buy another dryer if this one doesn't get fixed, when the winter sets in.

I decided to clean my kitchen cupboards and get rid of stuff that we don't use and are just gathering dust. It was very therapeutic being ruthless and getting rid of stuff I didn't even know I had lurching in the cupboards. I discovered I have about 6 or 7 steamers in there (the type that comes with the rice cookers, etc). I haven't even got the rice cookers anymore! i threw away all my Teflon coated pots and pans because the Teflon have peeled off and are now considered unsafe to cook in. I got new ones but they are budgeted for.

We had a gardener come and look at my appalling excuse of a garden and gave me a whopping £2500  estimate to get the dilapidated and collapsing fences off, supply and fit the new ones, remove the pebbles that cover the entire garden and replace with turf, build me a couple of raised beds for my vegetable garden, hire a skip and discard the rubbish and also remove my overgrown and uncontrollable hedges. I nearly collapsed when he said that. I don't have that kind of money right now. So back to the drawing board and ring other people to give me their estimates. At this rate by the time I've saved up for what the first one quoted, it will be well past summer by the time we can have a more presentable and usable garden. I will be forced to grow in pots again like I did last year. :(

Here's bidding you all good night, sweet dreams and happy debt slaying tomorrow.

Hiya folks, sorry wasn't about yesterday. Hectic day in work.

Upto 13 SFD about my only success at the moment. Going to spend today, need some cider to sit in the garden with later, before the weather changes.

Sat in work, feeling bad, should have gone to a funeral this morning but as one of my bosses was off with me last few days decided not to ask for the time off. Will catch up with my friends daughter and explain over the next week. Popular bloke so imagine there will be a good turn out so very sad.

Fmess well done you, under 5K woo hoo. I have to clear my current card 240 pounds before I can start at hacking away at mine. Got few days away in May but will be all over it like a rash when I return.

The Only Girl - I did my garden myself. Bought 3 tons of topsoil in, some chippings, fence panels, lots of tip runs and love it as it is all my own work. Not bad for a grannie either lol. Couldn't you offer the chippings in bags on local facebook selling page to get rid. Didn't cost me a great deal either. Chuffed it only took me 1 1/2hr to offload each ton of soil, Had offers to do other gardens as well but little time to do them. Would love that sort of job though.

Washed all the bedding and put on the line before work seeing as the weather changes tomorrow. Hope grandson is in a better mood today, wore me out the other day.

Went out for tea yesterday, just cheap Wetherspoons one, catch up with old friend, cheered me up and made me laugh. He's great and he's fallen in love (again). Hope it works out for him as he deserves a bit of good luck. Probably one of the best mates I have.

Fmess thanks for all the soda crystal uses, going to try some out later.

Hope everyone is well, will catch up properly later x

Calling Sorry you had to miss a funeral too. Sometimes it can't be helped and my family understood that work had to come first!

TheOnlyGirl:eek: at that quote. Is it not something you could do yourselves? I know it sounds like a big job but I have built similar before.. :)

Pheonix lovely to see you!!! Come back!!

Right have to retract my SFD status from yesterday as I bought £22 of stuff in Mr S. I had to stock up the freezer with meat as I am getting panicky about snacks for this daft diet. On the plus side I have no headache today and am feeling less hungry so less stressed about food!

Not a SFD today either as need to get some cake tins and liners for baking for work tomorrow. Hugs all xx

  • Hi Lilt and Calling, I would really love to do it myself but a) I am absolutely rubbish at diy (I am keen to learn though) b) my wrist is still not fully functional after my fracture last year c) i can't afford to take time off work because I am a locus atm, waiting for my background checks before I can be considered a permanent member of staff and hence paid leave d) my hubby is worse than me when it comes to gardening, he uses his hay fever as an excuse for not staying in the garden longer than 5 minutes and complains of back pain after doing something strenuous. Hopeless pair aren't we?

My two brothers are not work shy (we grew up in a farm) but I am embarrassed to ask them to do it when I couldn even get my husband to be remotely interested.

Did I mention somebody from Freecycle gave me an unused potting table? It hasn't even been assembled yet! I was so chuffed. I just saved myself at least £30. I can't wait to put it to use soon.

Sorry to hear about the funeral Calling.

Lilt I can relate to the migraines/headaches. I'm a fellow sufferer. I used to have migraines/headaches about 4/7 days ina week. My GP referred me to the headache clinic and they prescribed migraine prophylaxis/preventer (Propranolol 80mg twice a day) migraleve when it occurs or a nasal spray called Sumatriptan which kills the migraine within minutes if caught at the right time. The preventer did wonders, the problem is because I don't get migraines often anymore I forget to take the preventer. My nurse hubby thinks I am a nightmare/noncompliant patient. I am interested in the diet you are on though, nobody's mentioned that to me yet.

I hope you all are having a better day than me, enjoying the lovely sunshine. I could have been out in my garden doing those jobs that need doing. Instead I am stuck here in the staff room having my lunch and looking out of the window and seeing the glorious sunshine.

Have a good day every one!

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All
SFD no 9 here. BUT its not looking good for my pay day next friday. So far have £46.73 in the kitty :( need a few decent days to up that. Although apart from the accountants bill which he is making a few noises about, I have paid everything since we reopened from my meagre takings, not the business OD, so I am doing all I can.
Had a good opportunity for hire out at the shop offered to me today, its not massively well paying but would add solid ££s per week to the bottom line & fit with my overall vision of making the space work for me even when I am not present, so not to be sniffed at.
I am so glad its friday tommorow I feel properly weary.
    Night all.

Today I am grateful for sunshine, for a pretty hairslide, for dd gaining weight, for the noise of happy children playing outside, for tasty strawberries.

SFD yesterday but spent £11.54 today which is coming from DS3's birthday budget. Surrounded by clean bedding plus one washed quilt and another hung up to air on the line (+ 2 more pillows). Good bathmat is in the machine, need to get it dry tomorrow before DS3 comes home with his friends.

Tons of brown goo out of the oven. Exhausted myself and nearly filled green bin by sweeping/ chipping/ cutting back in the yard.

Still loads to do (may have to throw things in a box and wipe all the empty surfaces). Box can hide in my room or just throw a cloth over it. Why does my house not look like other people's? Spent quite a lot of time in the bathroom and kitchen and don't know where to start with the front room - DS3 is using it as an alternate bedroom which doesn't help.

Will be better tomorrow. Some of my spending was on sandwich stuff as I don't want to mess up the kitchen when it is done. ran out of bread earlier in the week and have a longish list of things we haven't got (no salad/ fruit/ yoghurts plus some of the sauces are running out). Was going to go to the SM but too tired and may have a small delivery.

Today I am grateful for the yard being nearer to how I want it, for the smell of clean bedding (6 newly bagged up pillows at the end of my bed) and for the joy of a simple sandwich (although buying one would have been cheaper as I had none of the ingredients except mayonnaise).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
