    Debt-free and Proud!
Spent a nice weekend with DH walking around London yesterday and today just around the home. Scrubbed our old freezer inside and out, then sold it on GumT within an hour. Plus our old table & chairs which had been sitting in the garage for a few months.

Been using up bits from the fridge & cupboards too, resulting in some yummy meals :)

Hit NSD number 6 today and have some meal ideas for work this week too.

Enjoy the last few hours of the weekend, turtles!

    Congratulations welshkitty

Super quick post as knackered. Busy but productive day with some time for fun and an ice cream :) could do with another weekend now! Not a SFD due to bread and ice cream.

Ooo Happy Birthday Lilt for yesterday. Hope you had a good one.

Clear the naughty step I am jumping onto it.

    Today's confessions

I joined the National Trust - 45.00 25% discount online hkud(decided agst zoo membership been there a lot and find it bit boring.) Love going to Bodnant Gardens at different times of the year so put myself first for a change. At least I can visit different places all over Britain

I went and bought myself 2 pairs of trousers, desperate for some loose fitting ones as my weight has increased.

Will be good rest of the week, no choice now. Off to update my totals.

Hope you had a good birthday Lilt!

Calling - We joined NT a few years back and have never regreted it. When we had the car we used to plan our route to stop into NT places along the way instead of motorway services. It is a great way of expanding your places vistited too.

Mothernerd - Well done on your leftover use :)

Samizel - Glad you had a good London weekend.

Today was really busy for all the wrong reasons. I really muffed up how much I can fit into my new paniers and ended up needing to spend 30 minutes finding the best combo for the 2 of them, my backback etc. Arrived late for work and never caught up all day. Really pooped. But hopefully the amount of prep I got done today will stand me in good stead for tommorow. And the rest of the week.

Not a NSD today, but I did manage to save around £10 in coupons and brand matches, all found in the car park over the weekend! Got 5 x points on my shop as well from another voucher, so already have more nectar points to spend. So not all bad.

Really aching so off to get into the bath (sorry Fmess)

Don't be daft - it actually reminds me how much I want a bathroom with a bath in and focusses my mind getting debt free so I can afford to change my home.

Today has been SFD number 14 and LTW number 10 :) Feel like I am quite on track although I have spent quite a lot of my wages for May already. However as you say calling, when it's gone, it's gone, and I won't be able to spend it. It's definitely a good thing that I pay towards my debt and savings at the beginning of the month.

Cor, fmess, it was only the other day that you dipped under 5k. And look at you now! Gold star and happy smiley face stickers for you!

Today I am grateful for my lovely neighbour, for dd getting better, for locating strawberry ca1po1 at the first chemist, for a short walk, for ending my work day far less stressed than I was at the start.

  • Hi folks, good evening!

Like Bob I am also pooped. Finished at 11pm last night but didn't get home til almost midnight. By midnight, my head was still buzzing and took time to switch off. Didn't get to sleep til almost 2am. As a result, I overslept this morning, woke up just in time to put one load of washing in the washing machine and hang one load on the line, take a quick shower, eat a slice of bread and have a few sips of coffee and off to work. Because of that, I didn't have my LTW, and had lunch at the works canteen which I haven't visited for almost 2 months since I joined the MSE forums.

Stupidly, I put on the wrong type of shoes to work. Instead of my normal good old trusty clerks shoes I wore a low heeled pair of shoes, which towards the middle of the shift made my feet feel like they were going to detonate. When I clocked off at 8pm, I nearly crawled to the car due to my sore feet. My husband always says, "a good soldier never changes gun just before a battle. He sticks to what he knows best and normally uses." I must remember it tomorrow, comfort over beauty !!! And here goes another rant, came home after a long and busy shift, and was welcomed by a house that resembles a bomb site and there was no food on the table. "A hungry man is an angry man." It also applies to women! I was so hungry I could eat a whole cow. But there was nothing to eat. Fuming, I had to scramble some eggs and heat a bit of rice to take the edge of hunger off. Sometimes I could really kill my housemates, ie my hubby and kids! Not only that, the table has not been cleared and there seems to be at least 2 meals worth of dishes on the table! Arrrrggggh. I am a celebrity, get me out of here.

Belated happy birthday Lilt! All the best! Congratulations welsh kitty on your masters! Bob you are such a top wombler! No luck at wombling for me yet, but then again I haven't really been out much for me to spot any wombles. I need to get a life beyond work and ironing, which by the way seems to be growing in the speed of light. I never seem to be able to get on top of it. I wish I can ban ironing here at home. Unfortunately my hubby and my kids don't wear anything not ironed. Grrrrr. My own fault really, but there you go.

Sorry to bore you with my rants. Tomorrow is another day and hopefully it will be better than today. And with this, I bid you all good night. Sweet dreams!

    Happy birthday Lilt.

Ate a couple of frogs early on. Post was disappointing - bank want to increase rate on one of the cards (reading small print, I can avoid it as I was only paying off the balance but it affected my mood and it's something else to add on to the list just as I crossed something off).

Last day of my bus ticket and haven't been anywhere except other house and struggling with that. So decide to 'run away' and took myself off to the bus stop and get on the first bus I could use. Took water but didn't take lunch (I was afraid if I waited too long, sensible head would get back in control and I would decide there was too much to do - I needed the 'running away' day).

Good day, went to the city, visited a gallery but not much time so will go again. Walked quite a lot. Tried the cinema but not much on (16 screens and 6 showing the same film + half had kids films which were over for the day?). The Cobain thing looked interesting but not very upbeat.

Spent £2-80 this morning posting off a charity parcel and £5.60 on lunch. Drinks were dear but bought 2 sandwiches, 2 fruit salads and carrot sticks with hummous for 50p each and a couple of packs of ibruprofen. Gave my voucher to the girl behind my in the queue. Sat in the sunshine near the gardens and people watching. Also pigeon watching. There was one solitary seagull with an empty circle around him, pigeons either sitting with their backs to him or 'strutting' around avoiding looking at him but carefully out of reach.

Journey was twice as long as trip to bank and had to adjust how I sat several times on the way home. Brought the washing in before it started to rain and may have had a little nap. Won't be going anywhere else but had a lovely day.

Today I am grateful for sunshine, butterflies and getting rid of stress.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
