Thanks apple for the new thread. I am in.

    Belt tightening ahoy.

I am currently the July contender, but will move to June if someone gives me a nudge.

Today will be a SFD. Migraine knocked me for 6 and I feel dire. Luckily unbeknownst to me my boss who I had been due to work with today is also off and won't be back until tomorrow or later and has passed her work to someone else to complete which makes it much slower and means I can do it tomorrow. So back to bed for me xx

Hiya folks, Sorry been not too great since Sunday. Spent most of the time on the loo- good job I was alone in the office. Besides a funny tummy had a fever and shakes was in bed by 7pm Monday night. Worn out yesterday work and active 4yr old just about finished me off.

Thanks apple muncher for saving the day. I will do any month you need to fill in. Can do it on works computer, as having internet problems at home.

Lilt sorry the migraines haven't got better. Got a friend who suffers awfully from them.

Yesterday brought myself lunch, always without fail take lunch to work but wasn't sure in the morning if my tummy was up to it. So had a nice salad from Boots meal deal for a change and a sneaky carrot cake. 3.29 spent will put into food budget.

Today I will achieve the target of 15 SFD woo hoo. About the only thing going to plan this month.

Off to read May and get my budgets set in stone. x

Well done for the food budget Calling!! Sounds like you had food poisoning. Hope you're ok now? xx

With nothing left to buy in April, my budgets stand like this:

    Groceries: £183.28/£130
    Household: £31.78/£10
    Toiletries: £4.38/£5
    SFD's 16/15
    Money to savings: £472.16
Total overspend category named Lilt Diet: £130.53/£0

Have rejigged and taken about £250 from what I had thrown at my emergency fund to cover the overspends so I go into next month free and clear. No categories in the red now, but have arranged next months money more realistically and am hoping to stick to it.
If I do, on top of the £405 usual savings, I will have £850 going to the emergency fund, taking me to almost £2500 in there :j

Feeling bit more human but not great and still very light sensitive. No more sparkles and rainbows though. The diet should kick in to eradicate the headaches within 6 weeks. Cross your fingers because the hangover from the tablet is just as bad as the migraine.

  • Hello turtles! Sorry I've been absent since Sunday - work kind of took hold of me! Lilt, hope the migraine has eased a bit more as the day's gone on. Calling, well done on the food budget!
Monday was a NSD and so is today, but went to the cinema with OH yesterday as wanted to see the new Avengers film. I nearly fainted when they told us how much the tickets were, last time I went to the cinema it wasn't £9.50 I'm sure of it! Shows how often I go to the cinema I guess.
Got my work Christmas do (from 2013, actually!) tomorrow, but planning to not spend more than £15 on the meal and drinks - will be driving so shouldn't be a problem. And then we're into May! Thank you for doing the thread this month Fmess :)
Bought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free! :D

    Hi everyone!

Lilt I keep reading something about migraines that says to put hands and feet into a bowl of warm water and a cold pack on the back of your neck. It is supposed to relieve it by drawing blood away from the head (or something like that!). Is it worth a try?

I had a reply from the uni yesterday about the days I will be expected to attend and had a bit of a panic. Although the timetable isn't set yet, there could be some weeks that I am expected to attend 4 days. This would make it very difficult for me to carry on in my job which is 3 days per week. However, after a bit of thought and discussion with the bosses it looks like I might be able to switch to an annualised hours contract. I will do some overtime over the summer to build up my hours, which means I can take time off later in the year for studies but will still get my normal salary. Feeling relieved!

I'm not sure where I am up to with budgets this month as I have been so busy I have lost track. I will try and dig out receipts and add it all up but I'm pretty sure I haven't gone over budget. I am really looking forward to may. I will finish all my assignments by the middle of the month which means I will be able to focus on other things.

Today I am grateful for space and quiet to ponder, for dd's daisy duvet cover which always cheers me up, for the smell of fresh rain, for finding a bargain in sains of all places, for a good book to read.

    Thank you Fmess for April?

Calling clear a spot on the naughty step for me if you're still there! ;) I bought a fitbit today and I am not one bit sorry. Half came from my birthday money. the other half from next months money but doesn't change my budgets at all :)

I also signed up and cancelled the free prime trial within about 10 minutes so that I get it tomorrow!! :j

So.. no SFD here :o but a migraine free, mostly human if a little tired Lilty!!

WelshKitty I have tried ice packs on my forehead/back of my neck but never with the water. I will try that next time (touch wood there isn't one!) thank you!!
