Just read the last post on the Sticky "New forum roll out" (or something like that).
It was only supposed to have been rolled out to a small group of testers! Oops!
Still, we're back on the old layout (and not a second too soon) and I'm a happy bunny nowNow free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -

Any business that ignores its customers' requirements doesn't stay in business for long. The customer is always right.
As has been posted above, it has been proven time and time again that the majority of users get used to a change very quickly. If you think a few hundred of you leaving would have a negative impact on this forum then you really do have delusions of grandeur!!
Millions of Facebook and eBay users are proven facts of that. Many users leave both platforms regularly following changes and both platforms seem to be doing fine!
I think you will find the people who actually leave are by far in the minority.0 -
It was terrible Sam, it was a blindingly bright white background all over, very stark with a small font. It physically made me and others feel ill with headaches, feelings of nausea etc and we only had it on for about 30 minutes before I managed to change it back to the old style. If they permentaly change it to that new style for everyone I'll have no choice but to leave the forum the way it made me feel physically ill.
'Cos i have problems with my eyes any website in white blinds nme, so i've got everything on a pale grey backgroundLiverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Whether or not its true that this was released to everyone in error (and maybe it *is* true, because there was no announcement) this is obviously the way they want to go. And it sounds very similar to the test rollout that was done last year, I saw a lot of posts saying that. So this is the way they want it to go. I've said it on several threads (including my own diary) that I think the issue behind it is that they want fewer posters chatting - they want more focussed moneysaving going on, with link clicking and all the rest of it. Talk about killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. I've already taken a bit of personal info off the site, and I'll take more.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

The Guardian did something similar a couple of months back, but readers could leave comments and switch back to the older version until the final change-over.
That was very blue and white too and induced a headache very quickly, but they took comments on board and made changes- it's now usable but not great for reading except in short bursts.
I missed the 'new' version of the forum, so haven't voted.0 -
