How do you go back?Proud to have lost over 3 stone (45 pounds,) in the past year! :j Now a size 14!
You're not singing anymore........ You're not singing any-more!0 -
It's far too easy to thank posts on the new version on mobile. I scroll with my right index finger and thanking things every time I scroll.0

I can see why there is a need for a mobile site, but at least give users, desktop or otherwise, the choice of forum layout that they want to use.
Why upset the majority for the minority?0 -
Can non singed-in people change back?breathe in, breathe out- You're alive! Everything else is a bonus, right? RIGHT??0

The 'you can switch back' for a short while - is not correct. You can switch back and we've no plans to switch off the old style. Though of course as we hope in time virtually no one is using it we will switch it off then.
As for "you wont win people around by saying people just like change". I am not trying to win anyone around. I am aware lots of people don't like it whether due to change resistence or genuine preference. Yet we have to do what we believe is right for the forum - and I believe this is correct - and the buck stops with me.
Yet the key point is - if you're a registered member you can choose for yourself.
It did recover, but I was worried I'd have to hard reboot my phone because of it.
Every other website I use has versions for desktop/laptop and mobile devices - they don't lump them into one version.0 -

The registered users in the feedback group are mostly staying with the new one.
We always knew long term users wouldn't like it, as in the 13 years I've had the forum, we've never once done a design change that has an instantly positively received by regulars - nor do others who run forums who I've discussed it with (1)). That's why we keep the rollback option - as if you want to use it a different way you can.
This redesign isn't perfect. I know that, but it is better than what we have now and I want to continue to improve it.
Anyway I'm off to carry on with the weekly email now. We'll let you know the progress on this in due time
(1) I am sure someone who runs a forum somewhere has managed it, so of course this is a generalisation, but generally a valid one
Also, have your forum peeps remembered that most mobile devices have an on screen keyboard that in turns takes up usable space on the screen while it's in use, reducing what's available to display the site?0 -
In the new layout how do I get to my own recent posts?0
-
If I remember correctly, you ...
go into your user profile,
get up that overblown screen that lists your posts/threads/thanks/etc across the middle of the screen in a font that's much bigger than necessary,
and click on the number above the word 'posts'.
This then gives you the information in a similar format to if you had done a search on yourself.0 -
New look?
It bothers my eyes and I'm not 'that' old, just been unfortunate to have had 2 eye ops. So, the whiteness is an issue. Even with the device's brightness turned right down.
It takes much longer to load on my tablet, and will randomly reload the page. Or refuse to cooperate with me.
It is 'flash' heavy, with more graphical elements on the page, I think, and that is what causes the slow loading.
It seems to have gone for 'look over substance'.
I understand that it WILL happen, that we will have no choice. But while ever I still have a choice, I'm back to the 'old' format.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
