Happy holidays to juliejim and Michelle.
DH and DS are going out for a bike ride this morning.
I want to get everything done and then spend lots of time out in the garden with DS this afternoon.
So the list for today, in no particular order, looks like this...
Clean DS's room, with his help, and change his bedding
Hoover all rooms upstairs
Ironing
Clean bath
Clean bathroom floor
Help DS write a letter to his brother and sister
Help DS with reading library books and then return them for more reading challenge stickers
Work on behaviour rules with DS
Pack up parcel to send to friend in USA
Go through my list of Christmas presents bought
Have a tidy in the garden
2 loads of washing to sort
Got my dad visiting for tea later so need to buy a few vegetables to go with our chicken.
Have a good day everyone and hope you all manage a bit of 'me' time....it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

good morning,
well, the sun has disappeared again, good thing I did all the kids bedding yesterday when it was sunny!
Kids rooms today  my DD2 (11) has done her own room, she is a star, just gets on with it, she loves it tidy.
My DD1 (13) on the other hand.... I am sorry to say is a slob, stuff everywhere but she will get told to "help" today. (I tell her I will do it but she has to help, I am in her room, slowly picking things up and giving her instructions.. shhh don't tell her)
apart from that I need to do the bathroom too, never did it yesterday.
And I am going to try and find out how to restart my computer, it has gone haywire, kids can't get onto bebo etc because something is blocking flashplayer, it is so frustrating..
and I have to iron all that washing I have washed and dried when we had 2 days of sunshine...
and keep the girls from driving me and eachother crazy
and I have to take books back to library
Have a good day everyone, good news JillD about your dad..HopeElizzy so sorry to hear about your friend, it is so sad and to have such small children, your worst nightmare come true as a mum, my thoughts are with you and your friend, at least you can be there for her and her family but must be so heartbreaking.

I can do the kidsrooms!!
YEAH!!
Upstairs is the one area in my house at the moment where I can walk!
:rotfl:
We are off to IKEA tomorrow morning to buy our new laminate floor. then we'll start laying it next week. WHOOHOO!!!
3 years of nagging have finally paid off!
(and secretly stashing money away... hiding it from DH so he can't spend it)
You lucky girl, Ikea again.....and you are getting your new computer desk.. Well done you. Good thing I read this post, was just going to phone you for a chat..

Slept like a log last night, didn't even wake when DP came in from work. Still feel a littel tired but have coffee now.
juliejim and Michelle hope you both have a good time. Nicki you lucky devil, hope you enjoy your free time.
Kids up, dressed, fed, tablets sorted, dogs fed & been out. I need to boil kettle to do washing up, don't want to put water heater on as it heats the radiators upstairs making it too hot.
Nice here so far, washing machine on now with darks load then will do boys linen. DP staying in bed a bit longer, I need to find his phone as he's asked me to ring a shop but their number has recently changed and isn't on yellow pages site. We may end up actually having to go to North Shields for the parts, if they get them in, he's in a panic as the stuff isn't here and he's away Sunday - backlash I get of course as he's in a foul mood because of it.
As for my today list, that's upstairs, DP asleep so will get it and post it later. Going to do the kitchen first so I don't wake him upstairs. One day I might be more organised...........

We had a lovely sleep in, and are just fixing to go off to IKEA to buy our new floor.
Will do the kids bedrooms later on today. It'll give me great satisfaction to at least have the upstairs tidy!

Been doodling away on the PC for far too long this morning, but did type up minutes/agenda that I needed to do, and catch up on emails I needed to send.
I'll be delegating the kids' rooms, apart from tha washing, so I'll be more or less having a day off.:D
Already done one load of clothes washing. DS2 has a friend over, and they're on the Playstation of course. I may do an hour or so on the allotment, need to weed the potato beds. I was thinking of maybe lifting all the potatoes before we go on holiday next Saturday, but I think I'll leave them until I get back. No point getting exhausted just before the holiday!
I also need to repaint one section of wall in the hallway, as OH decided he needed to do a small repair AFTER I had painted it:mad:
Must, must get on now!
Hugs to HopeElizzy - that is such sad news.
Lil_me, I really hadn't got you down as a petrol head! That's given me a whole new perspective on you!It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Good morning,
I have just woken up so thought I should have a quick look at today's list before dooing anything else. I have now got a full blown head cold, and with my other problems can't really say if the rest of me is feeling bad or just the same as usual:rotfl:. I have been going for level two and extras as they seem easier to me. I don't vacuum at all as that completely floors me. The kids/hubby can do that. I have bought one of those wide fluffy hard floor sweepers and have been able to do all of downstairs except the lounge.
I am pleased about your dad JillD, it is such a worry. My dad has just been discharged from hospital after 5 weeks in there. When I rang they wouldn't tell me anything because I am not next of kin. He is too far away for me to visit often. It was absolutely fantastic to hear his voice on the phone at home. He is off to a rehabilitation unit next week so again I can't contact him, but at least we know he is 'on the mend'.
I hope your little ones are feeling a lot better now too.
HopeElizzy - this must be a very difficult time for you and your family, I am really sorry to hear about your friend. I will be thinking about you all. :grouphug:.
Lil_me and PenelopeP, lovely day?? Its grey and cold here. But blowy, might get some more sheets dry. I put tumble dryer on yesterday to dry some as felt too grotty to hang them out.PenelopeP, I see you have chooks too. After 2 months with no eggs and me buying four more to try to increase egg production yesterday we got SEVEN!! from eight hens, not bad. I can put my for sale sign up again.kazmeiste, I am glad it is not just me who does that. I have lost so many it is really annoying.

'I had a black dog, his name was depression".0 -
Serena, it just happened my partner did mechanics, ended up fixing cars at home and then I had to help as I was the only one there. Don't know huge amounts but most things I can manage. I'm only a shorty so for example when fastening head bolts in on a friend's engine I was rebuilding (DP has to go out and get parts as at the time I couldn't drive, was helping fix them before I passed my test) I had to stand on a potty stool to reach
I also have an issue going under the car (the issue being chest size) have become 'wedged' before
but no I don't mind getting my hands dirty, regularly DP will be rewiring a stereo (I am useless at electrics) while I do the mucky bits, always had a passion for cars!
Funniest things are for example helping a bloke when he's broken down, suprises them. When a guy pulls over because you've broken down and says 'I know the number of a garage that will tow it home for you' my reply 'It's ok I put the engine in, I know what's wrong with it' :rotfl: look on their faces.
Poohbear sorry to hear the weather isn't nice where you are, if I didn't need to get washing dry I would swap, I prefer it cooler. Great news with your Dad, pleased to hear he is on the mend. One day I might be more organised...........

Thanks to everyone for your kind words and hugs, and hugs to all of you who need them, especially HopeElizzy and tracyg.
I did end up going to lunch with my Mum in the end yesterday, and spent the rest of the afternoon going round the local estate agents to get an idea of what she may be able to afford after she sells her house. She's got a couple of them coming to value her house today. Some of the estate agents were really unfriendly and almost nasty to her, as she understandably doesn't have a very high budget, so I'm glad I was with her. She keeps on saying that she thinks she is going to weaken and not be able to go through with anything, and when she talked to my Dad last night, he just said "I don't think it's a good idea to sell the house" - no, "I don't think we should get a divorce" though. My Mum is just worried now that neither of them are going to be able to afford anywhere to live if they do divorce, as my Mum only has a few years til she is due to retire, and my Dad just works part time in a supermarket.I guess it's just a case of wait and see.
Right - time to take my mind off things by getting on with some flying. I've got quite a bit of catching up to do today, but as I don't have a spare room or kids room, I should have plenty of time.
Tasks I need to do:- Clean bathroom
- Dust bedroom
- Use re-borrowed and newly bagged Kirby around the whole flat before cat reappears (went missing when they came round with the lawnmowers as the stupid thing wouldn't come in when I called him, and he was still outside)
- Dust computer and desk
- 27 fling boogie
- Meal plan for next week
- Food shop
- Hang out washing that is in the WM.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
sexymouse, sorry to hear the estate agents were not nice. The whole selling up issue is another thing my parents are having problems with as it's a shame but they'll no doubt have to rent somewhere instead when they sell their house as neither can afford to buy alone. I think in some ways it's the only reason they stayed together, which is sad really.
the model shop DP ordered his stuff from originally have got the parts in
this just means one problem, he's ordered them from elsewhere aswell, so will have to buy both sets, argh! MEN! At least it'll hopefully cheer him up anyway. I'll suggest going for the ones in North Shields next week and we could make a day of it and go for fish and chips, (then to the factory outlet shops but shhhh don't tell him I said that) instead of spending £20 on petrol for nothing.
Waiting for him to get up then I'll go through to collect these for him, don't mind going to Birtley as there is a Netto and a F&V shop thereso I can kill several budgies with one pebble. Oh and I'll pop to the farm shop while I am out.
Oh another two parcels have arrived aswell, must have ordered more stuff, now he will be impressed. Definately a shopaholic!!One day I might be more organised...........
