  • Oh dear, I drank a bit too much wine last night - so I'm getting off to a slow start :( . Never mind - at least the spare room is in a reasonable state so it won't take too much cleaning.

Still no word from new boss - I phoned him yesterday but got through to the answer-phone, so in the end I left a message. I guess there is nothing else I can do to get hold of him  .

Lil_me - I'm glad you slept ok last night, I hope the throat isn't too bad today.

Right, I'd better do something useful today,
    have a good day everyone,

oh groan I can't keep this up. I've done the kids rooms but am now totally wiped out. How am I going to manage to stay on top of things and entertain the kids for the next 5 weeks? I am a wreck. I suppose I should start getting to bed earlier. Anyway, its yet another scorcher here, way too hot for me

Actually the kids seem happy enough at the moment so I might just lie down for a bit.

JillD You sound like you are doing loads of things and as it is hot where you are it must be really draining. I suppose I am lucky its quite cool here so is a bit more comfortable. You have loads going on at the moment so do please try to take it easy, chores can wait, your health is more important.

7WW-does no word from the boss mean you don't have to work? My daughter just had three weeks off work because of flooding and boss forgot to let her know when they went back in to the offices. They have agreed to pay her for all the time off though!

Lil_me, if you go to N Shields try the Shiremoor outlet shops. I got some bargains there. I had to go there in the end to find some shoes I could wear as I have a special insole in my shoe.

  • Morning all,

Glad to hear everyones having a better day (except those where its self induced )
Im glad to hear things are looking up for those will ill people, children with the lurgy and parents. All we need now is lil_me to have her doc appoint and get better!

Have a lovely time away those who are off on their hols  see you when you get back all refreshed and everything.

I had a productive and fun time going to the tip yesterday, very satisfying. I dont know whether it could be made into a dating venue though, the men who run it do scare me!!!
Ive done 2 loads of washing this am with clothes and my bed stuff and its all out on the line. I cunningly had reading to do so stayed at home and was able to multi-task getting the papers read and the washing out to dry. Im now in work with only 4.5hrs to go to the weekend!!! :D

    My list for today
Post thank you letters (:o from mid july! only a month late!!)
Post my Dads bday present to parents who are on hol for a month in France, jammy sods
Have a quick whiz round the house and do a quick wipe down / hoover as people are coming tomorrow for a party (doing a belated bday / graduation / yay ive got a job all in one thingy)
Write notes to put in the neighbours letterbox apologising about my cat (shes taken to making herself at home in their houses :o just wonders in and plonks herself down then has to be thrown out when they want to go out!)
Sweep and scrub down the patio area from where the BBQ was, now its all tidy!
    ENJOY THE SUN!!!

Right have a lovely rest of the day people and i hope the weekend is kind to you. Bye
    Axxx

  • Hurrah - the two new chooks have both started laying! So boiled eggs for lunch.

I'm definitely feeling more human, so I'm off to do the spare room whilst I've still got the energy and motivation.

Sorry if I am repeating myself but can't find post about chooks.

My beautiful new pullets started to lay yesterday, we got seven eggs from 8 hens. One of out hens is 6 years old so we don't expect to much from her. Do you think it is the brief few days we had of sunshine that encouraged them?

Must go get washing in it is about to rain. Its gone really dark!

    Afternoon all

Cut grass front and back and swept up.

Dusted living room and vacuumed all through downstairs.

One load of washing dried outside.

Peace here at last. The music didn't go off until 11.10 last night. We had three hours of the same song on repeat. Not the same album, the same song.

    Tomorrow they go on holiday.

No sound from their house this morning so at 10 am I cut the grass ;) They were up soon after that...... 10am is perfectly acceptable I think.

    Hi Poohbear,

I don't remember seeing your post about chooks either! It's great when the new ones start laying isn't it! One of the two newbies has been laying for a while, but today was the first day for the other one - I'm not sure what motivated her, maybe some decent weather has had something to do with it. We've only got 3 girls (the two youngsters plus a very bossy/neurotic two year old) at the moment - but that's more than enough for us.

We've just had the rain - I'm hoping it'll clear up before I go out later on.

Spare room dusted and cleaned. I'll leave changing the bed-linen until just before big sis arrives next week.

    Cheers for now

Sorry Pollybear but if I was kept up, I'd have been out at 8am with the mower, at the latest! I say I wouldn't but I probably would as I'd be in a foul mood. Have you tried having a word with their Mother?

Poohbear I've been to the Shiremoor one, got my coat from there, one we'll be going to (if the stuff arrives) is near Wet and Wild. I think it's called Royal Quays?

Been to Birtley, fruit & veg got, went to the butchers there for a few extras, stopped at farm shop on way back for meat order, then had to deal with a PROBLEM when I got home. DS2 had asked his Dad for money, he was told no, then he's took money from his Dad's change container when he was told no. Have had a chat, especially as he took £5 and has lost £2 at least somewhere. I was cross but tried to stay calm, have explained that even if it's 'only Dad's' it's still stealing, he didn't see it as a problem as it was just on the table, never had to deal with anything like this before. The money he took is coming out of his pocket money he earns, no chance he's getting away with it.
One day I might be more organised...........
